Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival at Solovki. Guided tour of the Solovetsky Monastery. Bolshoy Zayatsky Island

    07:30 Boarding the ship to Solovki.

    08:00 Departure by boat from the pier of the village of Rabochiostrovsk, where we will spend 2 hours on the way, watching marine animals and birds, as well as admiring the beauty of the islands.

    10:00 Arrival. You will be met at the pier and will take an organized transfer to the hotel, where you can leave your belongings.

    10:30 Sightseeing tour of the Solovetsky Monastery.

    Be careful: we cannot guarantee that this tour will not change your worldview forever. The monastery is not only a historical landmark. It is a functioning monastery and an opportunity to meet people who devote themselves to fasting and prayer.

    You will visit the territory of the central complex of the monastery, active temples, monuments included in the UNESCO List, objects of economic activity and learn more about its difficult history.

    13:30 Lunch at a cafe on Solovki and check-in at the hotel.

    14:30 Bolshoy Zayatsky Island tour is one of the most popular in Solovki.

    Zayatsky Island is unique. It is special even in the list of Solovetsky Islands, because it offers an amazing panorama of the Solovetsky Monastery.

    A delicate floral and berry carpet, dancing birches and gray glacial boulders. An atmosphere of immense peace and happiness.

    18:00 Dinner at a cafe.

    And, of course, we set aside free time for walking around the island, you can rent a bike at a rental point or look at the extraordinary views of the island.

Solovetskaya Sloboda Hotel

The Solovetskaya Sloboda Hotel is located in the center of the village, a 3-minute walk from the world-famous Solovetsky Monastery and 187 m from the Gulag Museum.

Each guest will be able to choose a suitable accommodation option from 45 comfortable and cozy rooms. All rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, a sleeping place, and a flat-screen TV. There is a billiard room and a library on site. A shuttle service is available upon request.

Breakfast is included in the room rate. For an additional cost, guests can purchase delicious local dishes, as well as lunches and dinners at the hotel's restaurant. There is a restaurant with a bar on site.

The Solovki Hotel is located in the village of Solovetsky in the forest area, near the shore of the White Sea. The Cape of Labyrinths and the Solovetsky Monastery are located nearby. The hotel consists of 5 buildings built in the traditional Russian style. The administrative building houses a restaurant, a bar, a souvenir shop and an accommodation service.

The hotel has 46 Standard and Junior Suites. The rooms are decorated in the style of log cabins with mosquito nets on the windows. Each room has its own bathroom.

For lunch and dinner, guests can enjoy local cuisine. Packed lunches are available on request. The bar serves international cocktails.

Arkhangelsk Airport is located at a distance of 240 km, the railway station is 235 km away. There are several churches, a monastery and a Holy Lake within walking distance.

In the southern part of the village of Solovetsky, a five-minute walk from the Kremlin, there is a brick cottage.

    My 4-day trip to Arkhangelsk in February 2026 left me with unforgettable memories. Many thanks to “Big Country” and to Yulia, the local coordinator in Arkhangelsk, for the excellent organization and the fascinating excursions. I was especially impressed by the beautiful northern landscapes, the variety of museums, and the warmth and hospitality of the local people. I enjoyed the trip so much that I wished I could have stayed longer.

    Good afternoon! We were on the "Northern Lights Hunt" tour in Arkhangelsk from March 2 to 5. Overall, everything was very well organized, and we would especially like to thank our guide Marina for the informative excursions and her warm, caring attitude toward us throughout the trip. Unfortunately, because of the weather, we didn’t get a chance to see the Northern Lights, which was a bit disappointing. Still, thank you very much for the wonderful trip and the excellent organization.

    I really enjoyed the trip—thanks to the tour managers! Everything was well-organized and clearly planned. I especially appreciated how quickly they responded to any questions I had and explained everything patiently. Even though I was traveling solo, all the excursions felt lively and engaging. It was a bit disappointing that the last tour was canceled, but I appreciated the advance notice, which gave me the chance to arrange a visit on my own. I’ll definitely recommend you!
