We invite connoisseurs of culture and lovers of photography on a unique tour of the lost corners of the Arkhangelsk region, where every object we visit can be called the most beautiful in Russia.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Meeting, Arkhangelsk, museum "Small Korels"
Arrival in Arkhangelsk.
Self-check-in or things in the luggage room.
10:00 Meeting of the group with the guide at the accommodation hotel.
Sightseeing tour of the Northern City of Arkhangelsk, which introduces the history of the city, the diverse life of modern Arkhangelsk, and its main attractions.
Walking tour of the city's protected street.
Unique northern houses with carved architraves, elegant porches, and spacious merchant mansions have been preserved here.
You will never leave that special feeling when you are present at the meeting of the past with the present.

Bus tour "Wooden architecture of the Russian North".
During the tour, you will visit the Museum of Wooden Architecture and Folk Culture "Malye Kareli", which has the world's largest collection of wooden architecture.
As soon as you set foot on the territory of the museum-reserve, you find yourself in the distant past, in the world of brave pomors, hunters, lumberjacks, and farmers.
This open-air museum, which protects a unique culture, has preserved the unique creations of folk architecture.
Return to Arkhangelsk.

Day 2 - Excursion to the village of Purnema, Kurtyaevo tract
Breakfast.

Departure from Arkhangelsk.
Stop at the Kurtyaevo tract.
The tract is known for the icon of Alexy, the man of God, revealed there, and for its sources.
The pilgrims who visited Kurtyaevo revered the icon as miraculous, and the spring was considered curative.
In the tract itself, tourists visit the chapel and the "holy spring".
In the mineral spring, the water of which is rich in trace elements, you can take a dip or collect holy water.
Visit the village of Purnema.
Purnema was first mentioned in 1544 — even then it was a multi-household parish consisting of 8 villages.
The pearl of Purnema is the wooden church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker on the basement – a quadrangle, completed with an octagon under a chopped tent with a closed porch (1618).
As well as the wooden Church of the Nativity (1860), built as the winter church of the parish.

Day 3 - Wooden temples of Poonezhye
Breakfast.
A large nest of villages, Podporozhye, has settled 11 km from the mouth of the Onega River.
On a high, well-visible promontory on the left bank stood a temple complex: the Trinity Church (1724), the Vladimir Temple (1757) with two chapels and a bell tower (1847).
Of the buildings of the temple complex, only the St. Vladimir's Church has been preserved to this day.
The second stop is St. Nicholas Church (1867) and Kiryak's chapel of Raw Materials in the village of Raw Materials.
A real wooden two-altar church with a refectory and a bell tower was erected on the site of the founded Assumption Monastery of the Virgin male desert.
The third stop is the Ascension Church (1661) in the village of Piyala.
The Ascension Church is 45 meters high, and it is one of the tallest tent churches in Russia.
According to legend, the future Patriarch Nikon prayed in this temple.
There is a bell tower built in 1700 next to the preserved temple.
The excellent proportions, the play of facets and volumes make the Piyalsky ensemble one of the most beautiful monuments in Russia.

Day 4 - Excursion to the village of Vorzogory
Breakfast.
Excursion to the village of Vorzogory.
Vorzogory is an ancient Pomeranian settlement with an interesting residential development and a local marine lifestyle.
The first mention of Vorzogory dates back to the middle of the 14th century.
Where it says that the inhabitants paid tribute to the Solovetsky monastery, and local craftsmen built wooden sea vessels for the monks.
In Vorzogory there is a unique architectural monument — a wooden tee, the only one of the preserved ones, which are located right on the seashore.
It consists of St. Nicholas Church (1636), Vvedenskaya Church (1793) and bell tower (XVIII century).

Day 5 - Wooden temples of Podvinye
Breakfast.
Room release.
Departure from Arkhangelsk.
Transfer to the village Pinega (7 hours).
There are stops on the way to inspect wooden temple complexes.
In the village of Zaostrovye, you will see the wooden church of the Intercession of the Mother of God, a unique Christian cultural and architectural monument of wooden architecture (1688), as well as the stone Sretensky Temple (1827).
There are six thrones in the temple, which were moved here from the former temples destroyed by time.
30 km from Arkhangelsk, in the village of Lyavlya, there is an ancient temple complex consisting of two churches: the stone Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (1833) and the oldest preserved wooden tent church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (1584).
St. Nicholas Church in the village of Lyavlya is the most ancient type of tent-roofed temple, cut with an octagon from the base, the so-called "octagon from the seams."
St. Basil's Church in the village of Chukhcherma is a former Orthodox church built in 1824, a wooden architectural monument.
The church was part of the triple ensemble of the Chukhchem-Ilyinsky churchyard, along with the bell tower (1783) and the nine-domed Ilyinsky Church (1657), which did not survive.

Day 6 - Kizhma village is the most beautiful village in Russia
Breakfast.
A trip to the village. Kimzha.
The village of Kimzha, founded in the early 16th century, is located in the Mezen district.
There are 71 historical monuments in Kimzha, one of which is the five—domed wooden tent—roofed Odigitrievsky Church (1709) of federal significance.
The village of Kimzha has preserved its traditional layout, Pomeranian peasant houses, windmills, wooden votive crosses, a complex of outbuildings of the XIX – XX centuries, and unique landscapes.
All the houses in the village are over a hundred years old: these are strong, northern fortress huts.
Therefore, Kimzha looks like a revived museum of wooden architecture, only here everything is real: children play between courtyards, gingerbread is baked in houses, smoke rises from chimneys, fish are fished on the river, berries are picked and hunted in the forests.
Customs and rituals are revered here, most holidays are celebrated according to the canons, and important dates are celebrated.
Kimzha village received the status of "The most beautiful village in Russia" and became the first Arctic village in the Federation of the Most Beautiful Villages on Earth.

Day 7 - Excursion "Ice palaces of caves". Departure

The Northern caves are a unique natural phenomenon: underground karst caves and systems, the longest and most numerous in the European part of Russia.
This is a fabulous kingdom of ice, hidden from human eyes deep underground.
Frozen streams of water, shaped icicles and tunnels and vaults of caves covered with soft and fragile snowflakes are waiting for you.
Lunch at a cafe.
Transfer to Arkhangelsk (4 hours).
Return to Arkhangelsk after 18:00.
