Itinerary

Day 1 - Moonscapes of Tajeran. Panoramas of Lake Baikal and the Majestic sea. Jeeps
Arrival in Irkutsk, meeting at the airport or railway station (meeting time: 08:00-09:00).
After a delicious breakfast, cheered up with a cup of coffee or tea, we go to Lake Baikal.
We are going towards Olkhon Island, to the most central part of Lake Baikal – to the Small Sea.
We pass Elan and enter the “Gate of the Tazheran steppes".
Our first stop is at the bronze figure of a flying eagle, the patron saint of the steppe expanses of Tazheran and Olkhon.
Next, we begin our journey through the Tazheran steppes.
There are many caves and salt lakes here.

We are moving towards Lake Baikal, to Aya Bay.
We drive along Lake Baikal, admiring its beauty and grandeur.

Day 2 - ATV and trekking: The Small Sea, the Primorsky Ridge and Sarma
Breakfast at the hotel.
ATV safari on the Tazheran steppe (2 people on a quad bike, management in turn).
We are going to Big Baikal.
The road from the hotel leads us to the Tazheran steppes, the air of which is filled with steppe grasses, birdsong and winds.
There are stunning beautiful landscapes around – a creation of nature!
In the middle of the steppe, we find ourselves in a fabulous place: in front of us is the Valley of Stone Spirits.
The Valley of Stone Spirits is a place of power that must be visited by everyone who comes to Lake Baikal.
Stone spirits are stone remnants.
Under the influence of wind and water, they took interesting forms that evoke various associations: sphinx, guardian, lizard, frog ... everyone will see their own.
We return to the hotel.
Then we transfer to the UAZ and go to the Sarminsky gorge.
We will drive along the picturesque road along the Mukhor Bay, the warmest and shallowest part of the Strait of the Small Sea, to its forest part, the distance is only a few tens of kilometers, and the nature is so different, as if you are already in another part of Lake Baikal.
Beyond the Khuzhir-Nugai Bay begins the vast delta of the Sarma River.
We will cross the bridge over the Sarma and go down to the river.
A vast expanse opens up to your eyes, with huge boulders randomly scattered against the background of emerald grass, as if the spirits of the mountains were playing skittles.
The Valley of Sarma is a change of amazing landscapes: this is a blooming mountain valley, and a dense forest thicket, and a path leading along a cliff above the river and, of course, a mountain river with its drops and rapids.
This is the road along which the Cossack Pentecostal Kurbat Ivanov passed in 1643.
And there are also ancient rock paintings preserved here.
We go on a small trekking trip to the observation point, which offers a stunning view of Lake Baikal.
While we are enjoying the views, we will have a delicious taiga lunch, and of course tea with thyme and rosehip collected in these places.
Having refreshed ourselves, we drive on.
We will take a ride along the forest road, make stops at the observation decks on the Small Sea and the Olkhon Gate.

Day 3 - Speedboat and UAZ (loaf): Ogoy and Olkhon – two shrines of Lake Baikal

The whole-day excursion "Two shrines of Lake Baikal".
Boarding a comfortable speedboat that will take us to Ogoy Island.
The Buddhist stupa, erected on Ogoy Island in the summer of 2005, is officially referred to as the Stupa of Enlightenment, the Conquest of demons, containing a statue of a Female form, the mother of all Buddhas.
In other words, this stupa belongs to the type of stupa in which various Buddhist relics are embedded.
We will take a boat through the waters of the Small Sea, admire the rocks of Olkhon Island, climb to the top of Ogoy Island, enjoy the silence, feel the incredible energy of this place and of course make a wish.
Then we go on the same boats to the island of Olkhon – to Khuzhir.
And here we have a wonderful view of the "calling card of Lake Baikal", one of the nine Shrines of Asia – Cape Burkhan or Shamanka Rock.
Shamanka was the most revered holy place on Lake Baikal, where sacrifices were made and vows were made since the appearance of the first shamans.
The cape cave was considered the residence of Eugene, the island's owner.

Day 4 - Speleo: the most beautiful cave and the vast expanses of Lake Baikal
Breakfast at the hotel.
We are going on an excursion to the most amazing and beautiful cave of the Baikal region – the Dream Cave!
It is located at an altitude of about 270 meters above the lake level.
Its depth is 52 meters, and the length of the passages is about 830 meters.
Researchers call it one of the most interesting caves in the Western Baikal region.
The Dream Cave has three floors, as well as a large number of passages, halls, and grottoes.
The extraordinary appearance of its halls is given by numerous snow-white calcite formations in multiple forms of stalagmites, stalactites and corralites.
The Dream Cave is also notable for its stunning halls: the Music Hall, the Throne Room, the Subway passage and others.
The main entrance of the cave leads to a huge Throne Room.
The hall got its name because of its monumental elevation, formed by beautiful golden-colored sediments, which resembles a throne.
The dimensions of the hall are very impressive: the height is about 13 meters, the width is 10 meters, the length is 40 meters.
Slit-shaped narrow passages fan out from the Throne Room.
A little further from the Throne Room there is a Music hall, in which the leaky formations emit a melodious and soft sound at the touch of a hand.
Thanks to the high passages of the cave, you can safely walk to your full height.
The Dream Cave is very cold inside, in summer the temperature does not rise + 2 degrees.
The descent into the cave will take place under the guidance and accompanied by speleologists.
After the descent, we will have a light buffet with a magnificent view of Lake Baikal.

On the way back, we will stop at Mount Tankhan, this is the highest point of the Tazheran massif, the height is 970 meters, for local residents it is a sacred place.

Day 5 - Farewell to Lake Baikal, shamanism and Irkutsk

Along the way, we will meet with a real shaman who will tell us about this mysterious religion, about rituals and their purposes, about the role nature plays in the life of the indigenous population.
