Baikal adventures

Departure for an excursion to the Barguzin valley.

The valley has a unique location, microclimate and relief, culture and history of the peoples who inhabited and inhabit it, rich flora and fauna, places of power of Buddhist and shamanic faith.

The first landmark will be the village of Barguzin, the first Cossack prison in the territory of Transbaikalia.

Barguzin is a famous place of political exile (Decembrists and Polish rebels).

Then transfer to Ulyun.

Lunch of Buryat national cuisine.

Transfer to the palace of the Goddess Yanzhima (a Buddhist temple complex located at the foot of the Barguzin ridge), a walk to the place of manifestation of the "face of the goddess" (goddess Yanzhima is the patroness of women and people of creative professions), people come here to seek inspiration, as well as with requests for a child and the search for a second half.

The next point of the trip is the beautiful bend of the river with a view of the Barguzinsky ridge.

We cross the valley and go to the Ikat ridge, here we will make a stop at the place "Buhe shulun" (bull stone), this is a shamanic place of power.

According to local legends, the bull-stone is considered the master of the Barguzin Valley.

Then we go to the Suvinsky castle, the huge rocky remains of the Bodon spur of the Ikat ridge resemble the ruins of an ancient castle.

Climbing the cliffs, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire valley and the Barguzinsky ridge.

Departure for an excursion to the Trans-Baikal National Park.

A visit to the modern visitor center "Zapovednoe Podlemorye", after a tour of the center we will go to the Bormashev lakes, here we will have the first point for swimming.

The water here is very warm and warms up well, and is also rich in minerals.

We will make our next stop on the shore of the Barguzin Bay on the longest beach on Lake Baikal (24 km).

The Barguzin Bay is the largest and deepest on Lake Baikal, with a view of the Holy Nose Peninsula, an iconic place for photos! After passing through the isthmus, we head to Chivyrkuysky Bay, the warmest and one of the most beautiful on Lake Baikal.

We climb to the observation deck, which offers a picturesque view of the Chivyrkuy Bay and its islands, from here we can also see the snow-capped peaks of the Barguzin range.

In the archipelago of the Ushkany Islands, we can observe seals in their natural habitat.

Then we return back to Chivyrkuy Bay and enter the Serpentine Bay, famous for its thermal springs.

Returning to the port of Monakhovo, we climb to the observation deck, which offers a picturesque view of the Chivyrkuy Bay and its islands, from here we can also see the snow-capped peaks of the Barguzin range.

After the tour, we return to the hotel.

We leave for Ulan-Ude in the morning.

On the way to the city, we visit the sights: Turtle Rock, lighthouse on the pier in the village of Turka, Sretensky Convent.

In the city, we are having a gala lunch at the national cafe, where we will be treated to Buryat cuisine.

Today we will visit Rinopoche Bagsha Datsan, a Tibetan temple in Ulan–Ude.

There is a 6-meter-high bronze Buddha statue in the temple.

We will make a detour around the datsan along the wooden eco-trail "The Road of Long Life".

This trail stretches for about a kilometer and there are gazebos of all the animals – symbols of the 12-year-old Eastern calendar.

Mantras are written in each gazebo, you can sit, meditate, summoning the powers of your totem animal.

In the evening, you will have free time to walk around the city.
