This will be one of the most exciting programs on Lake Baikal.

As part of our mini-group of 8 people, we immediately go to Listvyanka for the first acquaintance with Lake Baikal. On the way, we will visit the ethnographic open-air museum complex "Taltsy". We will see the Circum–Baikal Railway, well-known throughout Russia. We will visit the central part of Lake Baikal, in its very heart – on the Small Sea.

Along the way, we will be surrounded by a variety of landscapes with picturesque spurs of the Baikal ridge, the Tazheran steppe, the mountainous shores of the Small Sea and the mystical island of Olkhon.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Meeting. Listvyanka. The open-air museum "Taltsy". The Baikal Museum. The Chersky Stone

    Welcome to Irkutsk! 

    The meeting takes place in 2 stages: 

    • at the airport 08.00-08.30 (inside the building at the exit to the city with a sign);
    • at the railway station 09.00-09.30 (meeting with a sign at the exit to the city inside the railway station building). 

    After gathering the group, we go for breakfast and to Lake Baikal. 

    We are going to the nearest place on Lake Baikal from Irkutsk – Listvyanka.

    Listvyanka can rightfully be called the gate of Lake Baikal, for many tourists it is here that acquaintance with the great lake begins. 

    On the way, we will visit the ethnographic open-air museum complex "Taltsy".

    The museum recreates the cultural and everyday life of the Siberian village of the 17th and 19th centuries. 

    Here you will see the estates of wealthy peasants, the Spasskaya Tower of the Ilimsky ostrog, the Parish Council, the parish school, the temple of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God of the 17th century. 

    What is especially interesting is that each courtyard of the museum has its own exposition, you can go into each house and plunge into the atmosphere of those times. 

    After visiting the museum, we continue on our way to Listvyanka. 

    First, we will be greeted by a Shaman-a stone covered with myths and legends. 

    Many people know the legend of the love of Angara and Yenisei.

    After visiting the Baikal Museum, you will meet the inhabitants of the lake here. 

    Seals, hamaruses, gobies, sponges – these are the amazing organisms that live in Lake Baikal. 

    A walk through Listvyanka with a visit to the fish market and souvenir stalls.

    We will take the funicular up to the Chersky stone observation deck, from which a panorama of the coast will open, we will see the beginning of the Circum-Baikal Railway, in good weather you can see the Khamar Daban ridge and the eastern coast of Lake Baikal.

It is located on the shore of Lake Baikal in the Olkhonsky district, 2 km from the ferry crossing, 8 km from the island of Olkhon, in the bay of Bazarnaya Guba.
