Itinerary

Day 1 - Excursion to Lake Baikal in the village of Listvyanka
The gathering of the group in Irkutsk at 10:00.
It is necessary to arrive in Irkutsk before 9:30 local time.
Most recently, the celebration of the new year 2024 took place, and it's nice to spend the remaining days of the calendar holidays in a new place: set the tone for travel for the whole coming year!
Your adventure on Lake Baikal begins today.
After arriving in Irkutsk, you will be met by the organizer, and you will go towards Lake Baikal. The path will lie along the picturesque Baikal highway: the road is framed mainly by coniferous trees, which in winter are comfortably wrapped in a snow blanket. The village of Listvyanka, located along the shore of Lake Baikal, is about an hour and a half away. You will have a tour of the most interesting places near Lake Baikal.
Before that, you will visit an amazing place – the open-air architectural and ethnographic museum "Taltsy". Examples of wooden architecture of the past centuries are collected here. It is located on the picturesque shore of the Angara River surrounded by the Siberian forest, which gives it an authentic look and an authentic historical atmosphere. The guide will conduct an exciting tour, after which you will go further to Listvyanka.
On the way to Listvyanka you will see the legendary Shaman Stone, visit the limnological Museum of Lake Baikal, which not only conducts expositional and educational activities, but also continues to engage in serious scientific research, and therefore you will not learn such information about Lake Baikal "first-hand" anywhere.
After a walk along the pier and the famous fish market on Lake Baikal, you will check in at Listvyanka and rest before tomorrow. Tomorrow you will go to get acquainted with the legendary Baikal ice.

Day 2 - The first ice is the Small Sea of Lake Baikal
To visit Lake Baikal in winter and not see the legendary Baikal ice is an omission that cannot be allowed! The ice on Lake Baikal rises late – there will be no ice in Listvyanka yet during the New Year holidays. But there are bays on Lake Baikal, where already at the end of December the first ice appears: crystal clear, perfectly mirror-smooth, where you can literally see your reflection - this is the kind of ice we will go to watch with you!
In the morning, after breakfast at the Listvyanka hotel, you go to the "big" Baikal – to the bays of the Small Sea to walk on the first ice, skate on a large natural skating rink.
The Small Sea is an area conditionally separated from the Big Sea by the island of Olkhon, where bays and coves are comfortably located. The ice rises the fastest here all over Lake Baikal. The road to the Small Sea takes about 4 hours through a picturesque area, where the endless steppes, decorated here and there with expressive rock remnants, amaze the imagination with their scale and picturesqueness!
Be sure to take your skates with you – skating on Lake Baikal gives you a special pleasure! (if necessary, skates are available for rent) After taking vivid photos against the background of the beautiful beauty of nature, you will set off on your way back to Listvyanka.

Day 3 - Excursion to the mountains of the Eastern Sayan
An exciting journey to the mountains of the Eastern Sayan begins today. The path will run along a picturesque road, framed on the right hand by a string of mighty and majestic mountains, at the foot of which lies a plain, decorated with villages here and there.
The purpose of today's trip is the village of Arshan, comfortably located at the foot of the Tunka loaches. Upon arrival in the village, you will have a sightseeing tour.
A walk through the village is in itself a pleasant pastime, a real delight for your eyes: high mountains are constantly drawn in front of your eyes, and the fresh air invigorates and lifts your mood!
During the tour, the guide will tell you about the unique nature around the village of Arshan, together you will climb to the waterfalls, gracefully bound with ice in winter, taste the healing water of mineral springs — the composition of Arshan mineral water is close to the Caucasian Narzan. Visit 2 Buddhist datsans and a large souvenir market — here you can buy excellent tonic preparations based on the local herb sagan-dail and other medicines, souvenirs.
In the evening, you will find your way back and rest.

Day 4 - Irkutsk city Tour
Today you will get acquainted with the city of Irkutsk. After breakfast at the hotel, you will have a tour of festively decorated Irkutsk: the city shines in all its glory, dressed up in garlands and lights. The streets are decorated, and there is a sense of fairy-tale wonder in the air.
You will visit the heart of Irkutsk – Kirov Square, where the largest and most beautiful Christmas tree in the city is being installed, around which an ice town, a Santa Claus house, and slides are spread out. It is a real joy for children to spend time here: cheerfully slide down the ice slide!
After the allotted time for winter fun, you will have a fascinating excursion about the history of the city: you will visit the Angara embankment, see the monuments and their stories. Churches and sculptures are a small part of Irkutsk heritage. The guide, a true connoisseur of the city's history, will introduce you to Irkutsk so that you will love our city like a good old friend! The tour of Irkutsk is interesting for both adults and children.
In the evening, after checking into the hotel, you will have free time to relax or walk through the streets of the city.
Tonight is Christmas night. Christmas is one of the twelve great holidays of the Orthodox Church. Tomorrow, all Orthodox Christians will have the opportunity to go to church, pray and receive communion.

Day 5 - Completion of the tour program
Your tour of the festive Baikal is coming to an end today.
