Itinerary

Day 1 - Ascent along the Kyngarga mountain river to the waterfalls (Arshan village)
In the morning at 09:30 we meet at the airport and at the railway station of Irkutsk, get acquainted, get our luggage.
We take a minibus to the village of Arshan.
Lunch at your own expense at a roadside cafe.
Along the way, you will discover beautiful views of the Tunka Valley: snow-capped mountain peaks in the sun, green fields and rushing mountain rivers.
Upon arrival, accommodation at one of the recreation centers in Arshan.
After a short rest, you will have a simple climb along the Kyngarga mountain river to the waterfalls.
The most famous and largest is the first waterfall with a height of 7 m. However, there are as many as 11 waterfalls on the river! And if you are patient and continue on your way, you will see truly picturesque pictures of a mountain river, waterfalls and majestic mountains.
Return to the base.
On the way (to the village of Arshan): 220 km, about 4 hours.

Day 2 - Buddhist Datsan
After breakfast, you will visit the Buddhist datsan. The small complex traditionally includes a datsan building, prayer cylinders and stupas-suburgans.
Lunch at your own expense at a local cafe.
We recommend you to try traditional Buryat meat dishes – buuz and buchler – it's really very tasty!
You have free time after lunch.
You can visit the village of Zhemchug, which has pools and baths with therapeutic thermal water, as well as a salt shower.
Dinner – on your own in one of the cafes of the village or at the base.
For those who wish, there is a sauna with birch brooms (for an additional fee).

Day 3 - Circum-Baikal Railway
Early breakfast.

Departure from Arshan to the city of Slyudyanka.

In Slyudyanka, you will board the Circum–Baikal Express, an excursion train that follows the Circum-Baikal Railway.

Along the way, you will stop at the most interesting places, inspect tunnels, bridges and retaining arches, the guide will tell you the history of the construction of the KBZHD and interesting information about Lake Baikal.

In the evening, the train arrives at the Port of Baikal, from where we take a ferry across the mouth of the Angara River to the village of Listvyanka.

Transfer to the hotel.

Accommodation, dinner.

Day 4 - Listvyanka, Chersky stone, Baikal Museum
After breakfast, we go on a sightseeing tour of Listvyanka.
First, we will visit the open-air architectural and ethnographic museum – Taltsy.
This unique place contains monuments of history, architecture and ethnography of the XVII—XX centuries.
After lunch, we will go to the Baikal Museum, where we will get acquainted with the inhabitants of Lake Baikal, who live in the aquarium.
Then we will take the cable car up to the Chersky stone, which offers wonderful panoramas of Lake Baikal and the surrounding area.
At the souvenir market in Listvyanka village, you will be able to buy souvenirs from Siberian craftsmen made of stone, wood, birch bark and glass, as well as taste Baikal fish – omul, grayling, whitefish, cold and hot smoked.
Lunch and dinner on your own in the cafes and restaurants of Listvyanka.

Day 5 - Olkhon Island, Shamanka Rock
Breakfast.

Boarding a minibus and transfer to Olkhon Island.

On the way, lunch at a roadside cafe (at your own expense).

We cross the Olkhonsky Gate Strait by ferry and get to the island.

Arrival in the village. Khuzhir, accommodation at a tourist base.

Supper.

Walking tour to one of the main attractions of Olkhon island – Cape Burkhan.

This cape is also called Shamanka Rock, because the place has been considered sacred since ancient times.

Day 6 - Cape Khoboy, north of Olkhon Island
We begin our acquaintance with Olkhon and today we will go to the north of the island.

Real Baikal expanses and breathtaking views!

Today we will walk on Cape Three Brothers and Hoboy, have lunch in nature and, of course, take a lot of beautiful photos.

Sandy beaches, cozy coves, picturesque cliffs and cliffs – Olkhon is able to surprise with its beauty and energy.

After lunch, we will visit Cape of Love and hear the legends and legends associated with this place.

Let's look into the Usura Falls, where we can go down to the shore, relax and swim.

You can also ride a horse here (paid separately).

In the evening (at 17-18h.) we return to the hotel, have dinner.

Day 7 - The southern part of Olkhon Island
After breakfast, we set off on a trip to the southeastern part of the island.

Thanks to this trip, you will have a complete picture of Olkhon.

We promise you will be amazed at how many surprises the seemingly monotonous steppe hides.

The day's program includes secluded bays, a turquoise lagoon and even one lake "Heart".

On hot July and August days, bring swimsuits with you.

This day will not do without bizarre rock complexes.

A stone castle, a trident – what you will not see on this day.

Return to the base.

Supper.

Day 8 - Rest on the shore of Lake Baikal
Free day, plan it at your discretion (paid separately).

To master horseback riding, kayak, try SAP board, go fishing or just swim and sunbathe - the choice is yours.

And you can also go on a boat trip to the island of Ogoy or on a short boat trip to the islands of the Small Sea.

Day 9 - Return to Irkutsk
Final breakfast.
Transfer to Irkutsk.
The journey will take about 6 hours.
Lunch at a roadside cafe at your own expense.
Arrival in Irkutsk (Kirov Square) approximately from 16 to 19:00.

Mini-hotel Baikal

It is located on the island of Olkhon in the village. Khuzhir, just 150 m from the shore of Lake Baikal. The excellent location allows you to reach the significant attractions of the island – Shamanka Rock and Sarai beach in a few minutes on foot. All necessary infrastructure is also within walking distance: cafes, shops, souvenir shops, etc.

Some rooms have views of Lake Baikal, sandy beach and coniferous forest. The rooms are decorated in a rustic style and made of Baikal pine, so the air in them is saturated with the aroma of pine needles and resins.

The Standard double comfortable rooms are located in wooden buildings and are available: two single beds or one double bed (additional installation is possible. seats), flat-screen TV, table, chairs, wardrobe or closet, private bathroom with shower, towels, mirror.

From June 20 to June 29, 2024, we journeyed from Arshan to Lake Baikal, and the experience left us with unforgettable memories of the stunning nature of Buryatia and Lake Baikal. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, as it featured a rich variety of natural and historical landmarks, including the Circum–Baikal railway, the Taltsy Museum, Olkhon Island, and more.

The tour was fantastic! The weather was a bit unpredictable, but it didn’t dampen the mood or the overall experience. Our guide, Leonid, was incredible! He knew everything—history, traditions, flora, fauna—and was full of energy, always attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure we enjoyed our time. We learned so much about the local way of life and even played a traditional board game, which was great fun. Leonid is such a knowledgeable guide 👍👍👍—with him, you feel confident climbing any mountain. The natural scenery was absolutely breathtaking. Before the tour, I was a bit concerned about the food, but it turned out there was no need to worry—everything was excellent. Our group was also amazing, full of positivity and great energy.
