Itinerary

Day 1 - Getting to know Irkutsk
In the morning at 09:30 we meet at the airport or at the Irkutsk railway station, get our luggage, get acquainted.

Then we go on a sightseeing tour of the city.

The program includes a visit to the main sights of Irkutsk: the founding site of the city, the Moscow Gate, the Church of the Savior, the embankment of the Angara River, the historical quarter.

On this day, an independent visit to the Museum of the Decembrists and the nerpinarium is possible.

Day 2 - Circum-Baikal Railway
After breakfast, departure for the Circum-Baikal Railway tour.
The KBZHD is called the "golden buckle" of Russia's steel belt, it was built back in tsarist times and is rightfully the most beautiful and most expensive railway in Russia.
You will see unique architectural structures, tunnels and stone galleries and, of course, incomparable views of Lake Baikal.
Arrival in Irkutsk in the evening.
Transfer to the hotels.
Meals: breakfast and lunch.

Day 3 - Cape Burkhan
In the morning we take minibuses to Olkhon, the largest and most beautiful island of Lake Baikal.
The journey time will take 6-7 hours.
After crossing the Olkhon Gate Strait by ferry, we find ourselves on the island.
Another 35 km of the way and we are on the spot – in the village of Khuzhir – this is the tourist capital of the island.
Check-in at the hotel.
Sightseeing tour to Cape Burkhan (Shamanka Rock), which is considered sacred to the indigenous inhabitants of Olkhon Island – Buryat.
Meals: breakfast and dinner.

Day 4 - Excursion to Cape Khoboy
We have breakfast and are going on an excursion.
Today you will have a trip to the northernmost point of the island – Cape Khoboy.
The tour will allow you to see all the natural landscapes of the island: from rocky cliffs and boulders to sand dunes and stilt trees.
Once on Khoboi, you will realize how big and beautiful Lake Baikal is, because around you there will be endless expanses of water that merge with the horizon.
Khoboi has been revered by locals since ancient times and is considered a holy place, so you should not take any objects, move stones and shout loudly here.
After lunch, we go to Cape Shunte, or as it is popularly called Cape of Love.
The guide will tell you where the name came from.
Return to the base.
Supper.

Day 5 - Excursion to the South of the island
Breakfast at the base.
Departure for the tour.
Today you will go to the picturesque southern part of the island, from where you can enjoy magnificent panoramas of Lake Baikal.
On the way back, you will visit Cape Khorgoe in the south of the island.
There is an archaeological monument on the cape – the ancient Kurykan wall, which stretches along the entire isthmus of the cape.
It is still unknown for what purpose this wall was built.
Some archaeologists believe that the structure protected Kurykan from nomadic raids, while others suggest that sacrificial rituals were performed here and spirits came into contact.
Picnic in nature.
Meals: breakfast, picnic lunch and dinner.

Day 6 - Irkutsk
Your tour to Lake Baikal has come to an end.
After breakfast, we take a minibus to Irkutsk (Kirov Square – approximate arrival from 16:00 to 19:00).
Lunch at a roadside cafe on your own.
Accommodation in Irkutsk hotels by prior request.
Meals: breakfast.

The organization of the tour was excellent from start to finish. Everything was handled smoothly and professionally, from the airport pickup and transfers to the island crossing, hotel check-in, and departures for excursions. Everything ran right on schedule. The hotel was warm, clean, and comfortable, and the food was very good throughout the trip. I really enjoyed the itinerary overall. The only part that felt a bit challenging was the trip to Cape Three Brothers. The drive there in the UAZ vans was quite long, and by the end of the day everyone was understandably tired from being on the road. A special thank-you goes to the drivers, who did a fantastic job and even provided us with hot lunches during the excursions. I would also like to thank our guide, Oksana, for her engaging stories, professionalism, and genuine care for the group. Overall, I came away with a very positive impression of the trip.
