The charm of Lake Baikal and the springs of Arshan

Cape Khoboy is the northernmost cape of Olkhon Island. 

When you stand on a rock at the very edge, and there are kilometers of water under you, it seems that this is the very edge of the Earth that brave navigators and fearless heroes of Russian fairy tales were looking for... 

That's where our path lies.

To get to the north of the island, you need to overcome: a steppe landscape with incredible ascents and descents, very similar to a roller coaster, a sandy tract and an impassable taiga. 

During the trip, you will be able to see the face of Father Baikal on the slopes of the Primorsky Ridge, admire the three brothers, whose silhouettes were immortalized in stone by a mighty and just father, visit the edge of the Earth, make a wish on the rock of Love, and also taste fish soup prepared according to an ancient Buryat recipe.

You will learn a lot about Lake Baikal, hear fascinating legends, get acquainted with the traditions and customs of local residents. 

Everyone can do the route, but the impressions will remain the most vivid and, of course, unforgettable!

Excursion to the Small Sea by boat.

A visit to the largest island on the Small Sea, Ogoy, where the Buddhist stupa of enlightenment is located.

As a sign of respect for a culture that is not familiar to us, we will walk clockwise through the City to purify ourselves from the deeds that we have committed in our current and past lives. 

You need to walk along the stone path with bare feet, turning off thoughts, doubts, and worries. 

For complete enlightenment, clarification of thoughts, you need to go through 108 circles! 

Picnic in a picturesque bay on the western shore of Lake Baikal. 

If we're lucky, we'll meet a seal on her favorite "beach rocks". 

You can have lunch in a cafe on the shore of Lake Baikal (to your taste, not included in the price).

After a busy day, we return to Irkutsk.

Today we will transfer to the mountain village of Arshan, located in the Tunka Valley (the southern part of Lake Baikal). 

Stop at the observation deck, which offers a magnificent view of the lake.

A walk to the drinking pump room. 

There is such a law in the Buryat land: if you took something, then give something else in return.

If a person has drunk the healing water given by the spirits (ezhins) of the sacred place, be kind and leave thanks for the generosity.

On the day of departure, we will also not forget to honor the spirits of Anshan with a request to grant health and longevity, and gratitude for a wonderful vacation. 

A walk along the waterfalls of the Kyngargi River.

The mineral waters of Arshan have a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract.

The purest mountain air combined with mineral water has an extraordinary healing effect for tired urban residents, and the trail to the waterfalls of the Kyngargi River, according to ancient beliefs, prolongs a person's life for as many years as he has been to Arshan.

We will definitely visit the Khoimorsky datsan, located in a quiet and peaceful place near the village of Arshan. 

A traditional building made in Oriental style in compliance with all Buddhist rules.

For purification, we will spin the prayer drums to activate the mantras inside them. 

And only after that we will go inside the temple (optional). 

We return to the hotel in the evening.

A walk to the observation peak. 

For those who wish to climb the "Peak of Love". 

The stunning view of the Tunka Valley from the observation deck of the peak of Love will enchant you and will never let you forget about Arshan! 

According to the belief, love will be stronger if you climb this peak together (moreover, it is advisable to carry your Beloved in your arms for the last takeoff!). 

Swimming in the mineral pool. 

We will get a boost of energy by visiting the thermal springs.

There is nothing more pleasant than a hot mineral shower in the open air! 

Methane baths relax, restore the nervous system and have a rejuvenating effect.

Transfer Arshan – Irkutsk.

Transfer Irkutsk – Taltsy.

Visit to the ethnographic museum of Taltsy.

A unique open-air park-museum, where architectural exhibits are collected, which are subject to flooding during the construction of numerous hydroelectric power plants on the Hangar. 

You will have a unique opportunity to have lunch in a real “Tavern” (not included in the price). 

Transfer Taltsy – Listvyanka. 

The ascent to the observation peak is the "Chersky Stone". 

A picturesque panorama opens from the observation deck: a view of the entire Larch Bay, the famous source of the Angara and the legendary Shaman stone.

Visit to the only museum in Russia about Lake Baikal.

The Limnological museum provides very accessible and understandable information about the great lake. 

The expositions are devoted to the history of the lake's origin, the peculiarities of natural landscapes, the seismic situation, the fauna of Lake Baikal, and the history of studying the lake. 

Everyone's favorite exposition is aquariums, in which Baikal fish, crustaceans and even cute and modest seals are eagerly awaiting tourist guests. 

At the end of the tour, you will have a virtual dive into the purest Baikal waters. 

You will be able to feel like real researchers! 

On the second floor you can get acquainted with the tiniest inhabitants of Lake Baikal.

With the help of electron microscopes, tiny crustaceans, worms, eggs, etc. can be examined in great detail.
