Today begins your family trip to Lake Baikal.
Upon arrival in Irkutsk, you will be met at the airport by a representative of the company and on a comfortable individual transfer you will go to the most popular tourist location of Lake Baikal – the village of Listvyanka.
Listvyanka is the closest place to Irkutsk where you can see Lake Baikal.
The road to Listvyanka goes along the Baikal highway.
Surrounded by forest, snugly covered with snow in winter, the highway is incredibly beautiful, and it's a pleasure to drive along it!
Listvyanka is located right on the shore of Lake Baikal near the source of the Angara River on the right side.
An interesting sight awaits you – in any weather and at any temperature, the source never freezes.
That is, on the one hand you will see Lake Baikal, the surface of which is frozen, and on the other hand – the free flow of the Angara, the source of which reaches almost 1 km.
The Angara is the only river flowing out of Lake Baikal, and at its source there is a famous landmark, the Shaman Stone, which is associated with the legend of Lake Baikal and the Angara.
You will be able to see it from the shore, and the guide will tell you a beautiful legend. On the way, you will stop at the Taltsy Open-air museum.
Taltsy is an architectural and ethnographic museum, which contains examples of wooden architecture of the past centuries.
It is located on the picturesque shore of the Angara River surrounded by the Siberian forest, which gives it an authentic look and an authentic historical atmosphere.
The guide will take you on a guided tour and tell you the history of the exhibits, as a result of which you will feel like you are traveling through time!
After visiting the museum, you will go to the seal garden, where the artists are real Baikal seals, endemic to Lake Baikal.
They live only on Lake Baikal, and in the nerpinaria they give an interesting performance that delights both children and adults!
After visiting the nerpinarium, you will check into the hotel and have a free evening, which can be devoted to walks along the shore of Lake Baikal, visit the famous fish market, where there are also plenty of souvenir shops with local herbs and delicacies.
