Walking route through the territory of the Bolshoy Thach Nature Park, located on the border of the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea.

The mountains here have a gentle grassy slope from the north. From the south and west, Thach are steep rocky cliffs with stunning viewpoints.

Hiking in the Bolshoy Thach Nature Park is one of the most scenic routes in the Western Caucasus. This park is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and is the pride of Adygea. There are often locations along the route where you want to stop and take 360-degree photos!

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival. Backpacking trip to Knyazheskaya Polyana
Meeting at the railway station in Armavir until 9:00, transfer by registered minibus to the village of Dakhovskaya (170 km, 3 hours).
Transfer to off-road transport (UAZ, Gaz -66)
Transfer to the tour clearing "Taiwan-1".
Lunch is a snack.
Backpacking trip to the "Prince's Glade" (7.1 km; 940 m set, 80 m descent).
Setting up camp, dinner.

Day 2 - Backpacking trip: Knyazheskaya Polyana — Kristalnaya Cave — the top of Bolshoy Thach Mountain
Breakfast.

Day 3 - The Devil's Gate Pass
Breakfast.
Radial exit (without backpacks) to the Devil's Gate pass.
The pass is very beautiful, located on a hill, between two steep rocky peaks.
Lunch is a snack.
Return to the camp (16 km; set 1080 m, descent 1080 m).
Supper.
Rest.

Day 4 - Kolokolnaya Mountain
Breakfast.
We're breaking camp.
With backpacks, we walk the lower trail to the parking lot under Mount Kolokolnaya (4.5 km; set 165 m, reset 490 m).
Lunch is a snack.
We climb light (without backpacks) to the top of Mount Kolokolnaya, from here in good weather we can see Fisht (1 km, set 100 m, reset 100 m).
Supper.

Day 5 - Descent to the Taiwan-1 clearing. Departure
We're breaking camp.
With backpacks, we descend to the Taiwan-1 clearing (6 km; 70 m set, 880 m descent).
We drive by off-road car to the village of Dakhovskaya, then by minibus to the city of Armavir.
The program ends at approximately 18:00 at the railway station in Armavir.

It's important to know

a backpack of 70-90 liters; a tourist backpack with a wide waist circumference and a rigid back. Tactical backpacks with a thin waist band, a padded back and a smaller volume will create inconvenience and increase fatigue. Backpacks without waist coverage are not suitable;
waterproof backpack cover; if there is a cover, and if there is no cover, all items in the backpack are packed in waterproof bags (trash, store bags, etc.), special attention is paid to a sleeping bag, warm clothes;
tourist mat;
sleeping bag in a compression bag; comfort temperature +5 or lower (the first half of the nights are alpine);
trekking boots (well worn, not uncomfortable);
overshoes; tourist (protecting feet from dirt and dew) optional;
replacement shoes (sneakers, sandals); replacement shoes, in addition to moving around the camp, must have a running function (flip-flops will not work). Special attention to those who have new shoes;
waterproof jacket;
(windbreaker) and raincoat (you can use plain plastic, but if very thin, then 2 pieces);
running trousers; special hiking or sports type (synthetic, quick-drying). For example, pure cotton jeans are not suitable, but leggings, leggings, sweatpants are possible.;
a running top for the mountains is preferably with a long sleeve (light shirt or T-shirt with long sleeves), in the forest it is possible with a short one. Synthetic quick-drying is better, or mixed fabrics.;
fleece jacket (polara);
a warm vest or down jacket; a light warm thing for evenings at +5 +10, it is possible on a sintepon, etc.;
fleece hat (just not heavy);
thermal underwear;
fleece gloves;
light shorts or trousers for the second half of the hike, where it will be hot;
hat or baseball cap; any headdress is required;
3 pairs of socks; not understated, no footprints! Running socks are either special for hiking or regular thick or terry.
2-3 sets of linen (comfortable);
swimsuit/swimming trunks;
personal hygiene items in bottles designed for multiple applications;

The daytime temperature in the mountains is about +15 (cloudy), +20 or more on a sunny day. The nights are cold. In the forest area, as you approach the sea, it may be hot.
