Geographically, Damkhurts is located on the territory of beloved Karachay-Cherkessia, not far from Arkhyz. You come to this region, turn your head around – and from the very first minutes you realize that there is an amazing picture around and you immediately feel good here!

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival. Bolshaya Laba River Gorge

    11:30-12:00 Gathering of the group at the railway station and at the airport in Mineralnye Vody.

    Having gathered all together, we are going to Damhurts!

    This location is high in the mountains, to get here, we will first take a minibus (about 3-3.5 hours), and then we will transfer to mountain transport (about 2 hours).

    In the evening we will arrive where our beloved mountains stand, fast rivers run.

    And we will rest in this beauty all week.

    We will settle at the campsite where we will live during the tour.

    Active part of the tour: 1.5 km on foot.

Difficulty level of the route: moderate (20%), medium (80%). The route is trekking and involves walking through mountainous (rough) terrain. This type of outdoor activity involves daily climbing and dropping heights (ascents and descents). The route passes through forest trails, dirt roads, alpine meadows, large and small stones. There will be a daily elevation difference of 200 to 400 m along the routes, and two days of elevation differences of 880 m. Climbing 400-800 m is about the same as climbing 130-260 floors.

Included in price

  • motor vehicle crossings along the route by minibus at the time specified in the program;
  • travel by mountain transport (UAZ or GAZ-66);
  • accommodation in the Bolshaya Laba river gorge at the Damhurts campsite or a similar campsite. On-site facilities, outdoor shower (the water is heated by the sun), sauna (extra charge), electricity in the evenings. Bed linen is provided. You need to take your own towels.;
  • three meals a day according to the set menu (the menu is not individual!): breakfast (day 2-7) and dinner (day 1-6) are served ready, lunch (day 2-6) in the form of dry rations in the mountains (sausage, cheese, tea, biscuits, chocolate, sweets);
  • group equipment rental (campfire equipment, boilers, gas burners, first aid kit);

Personal equipment you need for the tour

Please note the rules for choosing clothes for a trip: in the Caucasus, you can wear trousers and T-shirts. You should not take shorts and T-shirts for a trip to the Caucasus. 

The list of equipment for tours from June 01 to September 24:

  • cap / panama hat;
  • jacket. The air temperature in the early morning and late evening is +8...+12C;
  • fleece. In autumn, we recommend taking 2 fleece coats: one for walking on the route (it gets a hiking smell quickly enough), the second clean and fresh fleece for walking in the hotel;
  • T-shirt;
  • a light shirt with long sleeves. The shirt will protect your hands and neck from burning.;
  • The buff. Protects the neck from burning, can be used as a headdress.;
  • running trousers;
  • lingerie;
  • socks;
  • trekking shoes up to the ankle and above;
  • flip-flops (for walking in a hotel);
  • swimsuit;
  • for girls optional: dress for a photo shoot on the background of mountains;
  • waterproof clothing or raincoat from the middle of the thigh and below;
  • trekking poles. The sticks significantly reduce the load on the knees. Physically strong and healthy tourists are recommended to have sticks with them. Tourists who have problems with their knees, joints, and excess weight MUST have trekking poles. If necessary, the club provides trekking poles for rent.;
  • passport / birth certificate of the child. It is mandatory to have the original documents (not a copy);
  • camera / video camera and charger;
  • toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, razor);
  • hairbrush;
  • sunglasses;
  • 0.5 L plastic bottle (for drinking water on the route);
  • toilet paper (useful during the day, on the route);
  • mug, spoon, plate. In the mountains, tourists drink tea from a mug that comes with a thermos or take a separate mug. The plate is useful to put sliced and small products (vegetables, cheese, olives, etc.) into it during lunch. The mug and plate should be non-breakable.;
  • wet wipes;
  • thread, needle;
  • backpack for walking (volume 25-35 liters). The backpack contains the tourist's personal belongings (fleece, raincoat, water bottle, etc.), as well as public food for lunch, which is provided by the instructor (the weight of the products is 400-600 grams);
  • sub-colonel;
  • shoe dryers;
  • sunscreen, lipstick;
  • individual first aid kit. Required: elastic bandage, Band-aid;
  • gloves (it may be cold on high-altitude routes);
  • the cap (for trips in September, October);
  • thermos bottle volume 0.5-0.75 liters (for trips in September, October);

  • head lamp (for trips in September, October). The daylight hours get shorter in the fall, so sometimes a flashlight can be useful on the route in the evening.;
