A week-long tour of Dagestan

Breakfast at the hotel.

Next, we head through the Gimrinsky tunnel (the longest in Russia, 4303m) and the beautiful Irganai reservoir to explore the Tsolotl Canyon, which literally splits the Khunzakh plateau in half.

Two waterfalls fall into the canyon, formed by the rivers Tobot and Itlyatlyar.

After that, we will visit the Matlas plateau, which is located at an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level and the famous Matlas stone bowl, a unique, fantastic place in beauty and energy.

Lunch in the mountains.

Transfer to Derbent.

Overnight at a 3* hotel.

The morning starts with breakfast in the hotel restaurant.

Then transfer to the Naryn-Kala citadel for an excursion and immerse yourself in the fascinating history of the fortress.

At the end, a walk through the streets of the Old Town (Magalam).

You will see the ancient Juma Mosque (recently added to the UNESCO World Heritage List), the Maiden Baths complex.

At the end of the tour, a magnificent national lunch.

After lunch, transfer to the hotel and free time.

For those who wish: take a walk along the embankment, visit the Derbent market.

After breakfast, we leave for an excursion to the village of Kubachi, the birthplace of world—famous jewelers and wood carvers.

Silverware is especially popular here, the production of which you can personally see at a master class in the house of one of the locals.

We'll have lunch and listen to interesting stories at Kubachin's house.

Next, we will go to Kala Koreish, the capital of the largest medieval feudal domain of the Kaitag district.

There are about 8 kilometers between them.

And we will return to Derbent for an overnight stay.

After a hearty breakfast, we leave for a tour of the legendary Gunib village.

The picturesque surroundings of Gunib have always inspired artists and poets, such as Aivazovsky and Gamzatov.

Next, we will visit a natural monument of national significance — the underground Saltinsky waterfall in the period from April 1 to October 1 (from October to April, this tour is not held due to the lack of water).

Then we will drive to the village of Chokh, similar to the Italian Positano.

The traditional architecture of the highlanders is still preserved here, represented by the stepped construction of steep mountain slopes.

We will have lunch with the locals and go to a meeting with the famous village of Gamsutl, located at an altitude of almost 1,500 m.

Those who wish to touch the unique aura of the abandoned village will have to hike for almost an hour.

You can't get there by car.

Overnight at the Eagle's Nest recreation center or another hospitable guest house, or at a 3* hotel on the plain.

After a delicious breakfast, we set off for the Karadakh gorge.

A unique natural monument in rocks from 2 to 5 meters wide and 150 meters high will amaze you with a mixture of horror and admiration.

The road to Kakhib, one of the oldest villages in Dagestan.

Old Kahib and its battle towers date back to the 8th-10th centuries.

Old Kahib was known throughout the Caucasus as an impregnable fortress.

Only once did the Tatar-Mongols break through there.

After this sad event, the mountaineers erected watchtowers right over the abyss near the village, and only one bridge across the canyon connected Kahib with the world.

Another abandoned village, Goor, is a 15—minute drive away.

Artfully inscribed into the mountainous landscape, Goor impresses with its preserved defensive towers and interesting history.

30 minutes from the mountain there is a garden with a mountain stream, which is crossed by an ancient stone bridge.

There is a historical monument of the 9th century — the ancient Datun Church, built by Georgian missionaries.

Return to the Eagle's Nest or another hospitable guest house, or to a 3* hotel on the plain.

Early breakfast.

Transfer to Makhachkala.

Visit the center of folk art crafts, the Juma mosque, the Tarki Tau observation deck, the market and get acquainted with the interesting history of the young city.

Transfer to the airport.

Departure home after 18:00.
