Travel to Dagestan. Sightseeing tour

Our day today is very diverse in landscapes! We will see the mysterious Matlas Stone Bowl gorge, several waterfalls and a very beautiful memorial complex.

The first location of our trip is the Tobot Waterfall.

He's not alone, he has two 70-meter neighbors!

The waterfall is considered the pearl of the Khunzakh plateau.

The next stop is the White Cranes Memorial Complex.

This is a unique cultural monument that represents those who died on the fields of all wars for their Fatherland. Created in the homeland of two great poets, father and son – Rasul Gamzatov and Gamzat Tsadas

Next, we will go for a walk through the dark labyrinths of the Matlas bowl, after which we will visit another picturesque Khan waterfall.

Breathing the fresh mountain air makes you sleep very well, but you need to get up early, today is another busy day on our journey through mountainous Dagestan!

The reservoir on the Avarskoye Koisu River is located among the rocks, on which small pines and fir trees grow. The water here is a rich turquoise color, the photos are very spectacular!

Our organized tour continues to the Karadakh gorge. This place is called the "Gate of Wonders" – here a quiet whisper turns into an echo, here it seems that the mountains are about to close over your head, and a stream is about to burst out of the bowels of the earth and turn into a stormy river! A series of unusual photos is provided for you!

Datong Temple. This ancient Christian shrine is located in a stunningly cozy and beautiful gorge of Dagestan! The journey from the bus to the temple takes only 7-10 minutes and the whole walking route passes through very picturesque places.

Spectacular cliffs rise up from the left, at the foot of which runs a small river. There is also an excellent location for a photo shoot along the way – an ancient arched bridge.

The Datun temple itself is located at the end of the gorge, also surrounded by the mountains of Dagestan. You can go inside and take beautiful photos through the windows of the temple!

Our tour of Dagestan continues. Goor is exactly the place where you realize that this is mountainous, mysterious Dagestan! Today we will not stop being surprised and admired.

Our path partially passes by our favorite reservoir on the Avarskoye Koisu River. Soon the asphalt will end, giving way to a steep and beautiful dirt serpentine. We will not drive fast, as we will have the opportunity to watch and film unreal mountains: cheesy, layered, rocky, green terraces overgrown with soft green grass.…

Our next location will not let us relax, we will plunge back into the past – the towers of the village of Stary Kahib, as the most impregnable in the whole Caucasus, remember only one enemy breakthrough. It was during the invasion of the Tatar-Mongols.

Kahib's neighbor is the glorious city of Goor. It boasts picturesque towers, as well as stunning views of the mountainous part of Dagestan!

In the city of Goor we will see the famous Troll Language! This is a stone ledge, proudly hovering over the abyss. This place is also called Maiden Rock. And, of course, there was a legend about the girl.

The name of Chokh village means "stop, parking" in Avar.

We will walk through the narrow old streets, look at the village from the observation deck.

The next stop is the legendary village of Gamsutl, which is often called Dagestan Machu Picchu.

We will go hiking past the spring with delicious water and climb to the ghost village.

In the Avar language, "gamsutl" translates as "at the foot of the Khan's fortress." Here, dilapidated houses, not devoid of aesthetic elements, stand on a cliff, any builder would say that it is not realistic to build a house here, but the houses were built and are still standing!

And they would have stood without collapsing further if people had not left this place. The last resident of this village, Abdulzhalil Abdulzhalilov, did not lose hope of reviving it until the end of his life! He lived alone in the village for 9 years, going down to Chokh village only once a month to visit the library.

What is the feeling of this place? He reached it and froze. Time has stopped there. There is nothing else in the world at this moment.

Also today we will visit the Andalal tower near the Gunib reservoir.

If you climb the tower, you will have a beautiful view of the hydroelectric dam and the Gunib reservoir.

The powerful flow of water in the waterfall, which was formed due to the discharge of water from the Gunib reservoir, will make you take out your camera and capture it!

After enjoying the views and history, today we are going to the kingdom of water and stone – to the Saltinsky waterfall.

If the water is high, we put on rubber boots and go to the underground waterfall.

Also today we will visit a visually sooo unusual city – Gunib.

It is located in a huge mountain rift, as if in a stone bowl.

Gunib will delight us with its spectacular fortress and pleasant museum, where we will learn a lot about Dagestan.

Then we will move to the city of Derbent.

We are waiting for the hospitable Derbent, whose name means "closed gate" in Persian.

Derbent is considered the oldest and southernmost city in Russia. People lived here even when the world knew nothing about Moscow.

The city is located in a strategically important narrow passage between the sea and the mountains, so this place was claimed at different times by Scythians and Khazars, Arabs and Persians, Turks and Persians again, Tokhtamysh, Tamerlane and Peter I.

On the site of the preserved Derbent citadel of Naryn-Kala, the first stone fortifications were erected at the turn of the VIII-VII centuries BC.

In the city, we will visit the Naryn-Kala fortress, take a walk around the old town, and visit souvenir shops.

We will definitely walk along the cozy pedestrian street.
