Itinerary

Day 1 - Meeting. Peach garden of the Salmanovs, Sulak Canyon, Chirkeyskoye reservoir by boat
We will meet at Makhachkala airport before 11:00.
If tourists arrive in advance, it is necessary to get to the airport on their own.
To immediately feel the region, we treat ourselves to a welcome set — the most delicious local treats are collected here.
First of all, we are going to have lunch in the Salmanov garden — this place is saturated with the ethnicity and flavor of Dagestan.
A local family invites guests to walk in the apricot garden, pick and taste fresh fruits, and taste national dishes.
We are treated to chudu and khinkal — under apricot trees we enjoy a meal and the unique taste of tea from mountain herbs.
Well-fed and satisfied, we go to the Nokhyo cave, which has become a new business card of Dagestan.
From here you can see how the Sulak River meanders like a turquoise snake between the stone cliffs, cross it on a suspension bridge and take a photo in hats on the other side.
We are going to the legendary Chirkeysky reservoir.
It's not enough for us to just watch all this beauty from the shore, so we sit on the boats and go for a boat trip.
We are going to an amazing place where we will spend the next night — glamping "Mountain wind" in the Gunib gorge.
Dinner is already ready for our arrival.
We gather in the dining area, enjoy the dishes of national cuisine from the glamping chef and share our impressions of the first day of the trip.
Tired, but satisfied and well-fed, we settle down in the safari tents prepared for us.

Day 2 - Hamsutl ghost village, Chokh village
We have breakfast in the heart of Dagestan in the fresh air surrounded by mountains.
A 1,500 m uphill climb awaits us.
There are picturesque landscapes and pleasant coolness of the forest around, and even an unprepared guest will master the way.
A difficult path leads us to the abandoned ghost village of Gamsutl, the "Dagestan Machu Picchu".
We climb to the top, walk along the deserted streets of the village, look into the houses where life once boiled.
There are three things that must be done here:
take a sip of freshly brewed coffee in Turkey;
find the message of the last resident of the village;
to be alone with my thoughts.
The guide shares with us local legends, tells us why and when the village was deserted.
For lunch, we go down to another legendary place — Chokh village.
Chaotic narrow streets, the yellow color of natural stone and the number of floors of the building give the appearance of a Chokh of a medieval eastern city.
We walk along the streets of the village.
The sun is playing hide-and-seek and sinking behind the mountains, and our busy day ends in Derbent.
Every corner of this city is filled with centuries-old history.
We are staying at a local hotel to relax and take a little breath after today's walk.
If you still have the strength, we go for a walk in the evening city and look at the largest multimedia fountain in Russia.

Day 3 - Ekranoplan Lun, treasures of Derbent and a traditional meal. Departure
We do exercises on the shore of the Caspian Sea, have breakfast and go to explore the Lun ekranoplan!
Now, a once highly classified military facility has gained a second life: everyone wants to be photographed against the background, and also touch the object of a bygone era.
From admiration for technology, we return to the research of antiquity: we go to look at the precious diamond in the treasury of the Derbent heritage — the citadel of Naryn-Kala.
We immerse ourselves in history, play a crossword puzzle quest and relax over a cup of coffee in the comfort of the fortress walls.
We descend from the fortress to the Old City — that's where the most colorful Derbent life is, as well as the ancient Juma mosque and millennial plane trees!
The Juma Mosque is the oldest mosque in all the countries of the former Soviet Union.
This discreet building is full of centuries-old dignity with a modest interior.
We finish our journey deliciously and beautifully with an immersive meal at the Ethnodome.
This feast is an immersion in ethnic interiors with stories about the traditions and gastronomy of Southern Dagestan.
We try dovga, dolma, chuda, baklava, isito and shah pilaf!
We learn how to cook a miracle, get to know the locals and take photos in luxurious national costumes.
During the tea party, pleasant surprises await us in memory of the trip.
Filled with emotions and a sense of freedom, we go to the airport and fly home.

The ascent to Gamsutl involves a drop-off by car and a walking route. In the parking lot, local residents provide drop-off services on mountain transport (UAZ, Niva). You can drive by car for about 1.5 km, and at this moment the steepest part of the climb is overcome. The cost of the service is 100-200 rubles / person in one direction. From the car stop, the path to the end of the route will be 1.8 km, the height difference is 1450-1670 m.

The tour provides accommodation in the glamping "Mountain Wind" and in the hotel in Derbent.

The possible accommodation options are listed below. In Derbent, it is possible to replace it with similar ones.

Glamping is located in the Gunib Gorge, surrounded by mountains. It is a place of connection of Caucasian hospitality, sweet fresh air, gorgeous mountain views and sunny vitamins.

The tent is a restaurant where breakfast and dinner will be served for you. Inside the tent there is a dining and tea room (always available for guests) area
Safari tents designed for two or three people. Each room has three single beds with bed linen and towels, warm blankets, a heater and a private terrace. There is no toilet or shower inside the houses. On the territory of the glamping, 8 showers and 11 toilets are located within walking distance from the cabins.
Barnhouses are one—room comfortable and warm houses for relaxing with family or friends with mountain views. Each of them has two single beds with bed linen and towels, additional beds — a pull-out sofa, a heater, warm blankets, a private terrace, a toilet and a shower.
Eight showers and eleven toilets in the glamping area within walking distance from the cabins.
