Itinerary

Day 1 - Meeting in Shuya. Kholui – Palekh – Shuya
10:30 Meeting in Shuya at the railway station.
Transfer to Kholui, the renowned center of Russian lacquer miniature and icon painting.
Excursion to the Museum of Kholui Art: here you can see not only the works of Kholui lacquer painting, but also household items, paintings, graphics, sculpture, samples of decorative and applied art (embroidery, lace weaving). Icons make up a significant part of the museum's collection.
A master class on painting lacquer miniatures, where the secrets of this art will be revealed to you. Everyone will take their product with them.
Visiting souvenir shops.
Transfer to the village of Palekh.
A village where every tenth resident is an artist. The golden Firebird serves as the symbol of the village, and the amazing art of creating Palekh lacquer boxes has been living here for almost a hundred years.
Visit to Holy Cross Church (17th century), painted in 1807 by Palekh icon painters.
Professor of Art History A.V. Bakushinsky called these murals "the last great wall painting, completing the cycle of development of the ancient Russian religious painting tradition."
Lunch.
Transfer to Shuya.
The city was chosen as the capital of Russian Christmas for a reason, before the revolution, because of the number of churches, it was called the second Suzdal.
Shuya is famous as the birthplace of the "elected tsar" Vasily Shuisky, merchant dynasties, holy icons, the wonderfully beautiful Church of the Resurrection of Christ and Russia's tallest "candle" bell tower, which is 106 m high.
Visit to the creative workshop "Cotton pocket".
Interactive program "Stories of New Year traditions in Russia".
Here you will plunge into the world of a fabulous New Year's story, you will be able to take part in a story-presentation, where you will not only see, but also try on the roles of the royal personages who once decided the fate of Shuya.
Together we will find out how this wonderful and beloved holiday appeared, how many brothers Santa Claus has, and what drinks people indulged themselves with on holidays.

Day 2 - Ivanovo estates
Breakfast.
Ivanovo city tour "Secrets of the cotton Kings".
We will learn the history of the formation of the merchant class and patronage of Ivanovo-Voznesensk and who made the greatest contribution to the cultural and artistic life of the city.
Visit to the Art Nouveau urban estate owned by D. G. Burylin, one of the largest Ivanovo manufacturers and patrons, the creator of the Museum of Industry and Art.
The estate began to take shape in the middle of the 19th century, when a one-story main house appeared at the intersection of the streets.
Lunch at a cafe.
Transfer to the village of Novo-Talitsy.
Visit to the Tsvetaev family Museum.
This is where the Tsvetaeva family originates, whose representatives were the great Russian poet Marina Tsvetaeva and her father– Ivan Vladimirovich Tsvetaev, founder of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.
The museum's exposition is based on authentic exhibits: personal belongings, books, photographs, as well as household items and family heirlooms are collected. There is a reading room in the attic of the museum house, which contains more than 3,000 volumes of works by poets and writers of the Silver Age.
Here we will be treated to the famous "Tsvetaevsky pie" with fragrant tea.
Return to Ivanovo.

Day 3 - Shchelykovo – Kineshma
Breakfast.
Transfer to Shchelykovo village.
Visit to the estate of the great Russian playwright Alexander Nikolaevich Ostrovsky.
He compared this place "with the best places in Switzerland and Italy," a place that became his lifelong love. Here he worked a lot and fruitfully, received numerous guests, and found his last refuge here.
A legend was born here: a spring was formed in the place where the Snow Maiden melted, and her trembling heart did not die, but continues to beat at the bottom of the "Blue Key".
Shchelykovo is not only a memorial museum, but also a nature reserve museum. An atmosphere of peace, harmony, inspiration and creativity reigns throughout the protected area.
Transfer to Kineshma.
Lunch.
We will take a walk through the quiet streets of the ancient town, which, despite all the twists and turns of the 20th century, has retained the charm of the Volga county town.
The writer Alexander Ostrovsky once walked along the wide boulevard along the Volga; the artist Boris Kustodiev was inspired by the spirit of the original city, and the Persian princess captured by Stepan Razin, according to local legend, gave the name to this small town.
Return to Ivanovo.

The trip left us with nothing but wonderful impressions. Svetlana, who accompanied our group, shared fascinating stories about her home region, including Shuya, Palekh, and Ivanovo.
