Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Kaliningrad. Excursion "Lights of Kaliningrad"
Arrival at the airport or railway station in Kaliningrad. Check-in at the hotel after 14:00.
Please note: the program specifies the exact start time of the excursions (local time). Please do not be late, the bus departs according to schedule. Due to possible traffic congestion, the waiting time for the bus can be 10-15 minutes.
The program includes an excursion "Lights of Kaliningrad + mulled wine".
14:30 Meeting in the lobby of the Holiday Inn hotel with a guide.
New Year's Kaliningrad will welcome its guests with a mild winter, festive illumination and a story about the centuries-old history of the amazing city on the Pregola.
You will see the evening Kaliningrad in festive decorations.
You will visit the most amazing and authentic areas, enjoy its unique atmosphere, admire the architectural styles of the preserved pre-war buildings and the solutions of modern craftsmen, and see the defensive structures of Konigsberg.
Drive through the fortress gates of the 19th century, feel the medieval power of the walls of the Cathedral of the 14th century and get acquainted with the great philosopher Kant, and in your free time you can stroll along the embankment of the Fish Village with a cup of fragrant mulled wine.

Day 2 - Free day. Excursion for an additional fee to the Curonian Spit and Zelenogradsk

Who among us has ever not wanted to find himself in a fairy tale? The winter Curonian Spit is not just a fairy tale, but a real enchanted forest.
Here you can touch the mystery of the Dancing Forest, the trunks of which seem to have been whimsically twisted and tied together, and the crowns of the trees were covered with a white fur coat.
On the observation deck on the Efa dune, you will discover all the beauty and diversity of the landscapes of the Curonian Spit — the sea, the bay, the pine forests, the sandy desert.
No wonder this unique and picturesque place was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and declared a state national park, the smallest of Russia's 42 national parks.
You will have the opportunity to plunge into the atmosphere of New Year's Zelenogradsk.
You will see New Year's Zelenogradsk with its charming ancient architecture of a European resort in the lights of festive illumination.
Unique boarding houses, hotels and private villas dating back to the late 19th and 20th centuries; St. Adalbert's Lutheran Church, Queen Louise Square and the house where she stayed in 1807, and much more.
A walk along the boardwalk will allow you to enjoy a wonderful view of the sea.

Day 3 - Schaaken and Neuhausen Castles, Schaackendorf Cheese Factory tour

An interesting, intense and tireless tour of the castles with cheese, chocolate and sweets tasting at the Schaackendorf cheese factory in the village. Nekrasovo.
The program provides free time for shopping in the store during production.
Kaliningrad region is the only region of the Russian Federation where there are knight castles. An exciting journey into the past awaits you.
In the cellars of Shaaken Castle, you will visit the Inquisition Museum. The castle museum's exposition will tell about the history of the fortress, which was repeatedly visited by the Russian Emperor Peter I and other famous historical figures. In the castle's armory, you can take spectacular photos in a knight's helmet and with weapons of that era.
You will have the opportunity to see Neuhausen Castle in Guryevsk, recently opened after restoration, which was part of the nearest medieval defense line of Konigsberg (now Kaliningrad), then it was the seat of the cathedral chapter (supreme church Council) of the Diocese of Zamland, later in the XVI century it will become the residence of the Duchess, the wife of Duke Albrecht, the great ruler of Prussia.
You will also stop for a photo break in front of the modern Nesselbeck Castle in the village of Orlovka, which was built as a comfortable hotel and a knight-style brewery restaurant.
You will definitely want to come back here for beer baths at the castle spa, or maybe for a jousting show tournament on one of the evenings of your vacation.

Day 4 - A trip to Amber and a festive dinner at the Nesselbek Castle
Breakfast buffet.
Free access to the castle pool (without steam rooms) from 07:00 to 11:00.

Acquaintance with the village of Yantarny, formerly Palmniken.
You will get acquainted with the history of the place. The architectural dominants of the place are the Lutheran Church of 1892, the aristocratic Schloss Hotel building.
You will walk to the sea through the park named after him. A becker with century-old trees.
Since 2016, Yantarny Beach has been receiving the blue flag annually, a sign of an ecologically clean and world-class beach.
The largest amber deposit in the world is located here.

Day 5 - A tour of Svetlogorsk. Completion of the program

11:00 Meeting in the lobby of the Nesselbeck Castle Hotel.
We will explore the sights of Svetlogorsk-Rauschen.
You will be enchanted by the ancient architecture of the late XIX–early XX centuries: private villas, boarding houses, hotels.
Organ hall, larch park, water tower, Kurhaus.
The symbols of Svetlogorsk are the beautiful works of the German sculptor G. Brachert — "Water Carrier" and "Nymph". You will see the new "house" of KVN and the Baltic Debuts Film Festival — the Yantar Hall Variety Theater.
Shopping, amber shops.
The tour ends at the airport at 14:00-14:30. The recommended departure time is after 16:30.
The bus returns to the Nesselbeck Castle Hotel at 15:00.
The bus returns to the Kaliningrad city center, to the Kaliningrad Hotel at 16:00.

The "Tourist" Hotel was excellent. It had everything we needed, and the city center was even within walking distance, about 15-30 minutes depending on your pace. The excursions to the towns around Kaliningrad, especially Zelenogradsk and Yantarny, were absolutely wonderful, really interesting, atmospheric, and enjoyable. I’d especially like to mention our guide, Lyudmila. She was friendly, funny, positive, and had a great sense of humor. Her tours were informative and engaging without overwhelming us with too much information. She explained everything in a simple and memorable way - more like: See this building? Here’s why it looks this way and what makes it special. That style made the excursions especially enjoyable. To be honest, the castle tours in Kaliningrad itself were a bit less interesting, since many of the castles are now partly in ruins.
