The village of Yantarny got its name for a reason: according to geologists, the largest amber deposit in the world is located here.

And this is the only place in Russia where industrial extraction of sunstone is carried out. Amber is a business card of the Kaliningrad region.

We will tell you all about amber. The program includes a visit to the enterprise, where you will be told about the extraction, processing of amber and the manufacture of jewelry with amber. 

You will also learn about the beneficial, healing properties of this stone. Amber is used in pharmaceuticals and in the production of medicinal amber cosmetics. 

In your free time, you can visit the quarry of the Kaliningrad Amber Combine, where amber mining is carried out in an open way.             

A visit to the quarry is offered on request, and tickets are paid at the company's ticket office independently (from 1300 rubles).

As part of the tour, there is time for purchases of amber products and souvenirs, because here in Yantarny is the main specialization of activity: stone mining and the manufacture of everything from amber!

We will also take a walk around Yantarny and get acquainted with its history. 

Previously, Amber was called Palmniken. 

The decoration of the place is the ancient Lutheran church of 1892 and the building of the Schloss Hotel in 1881, built as the home of the owner of the mining enterprise Moritz Becker, as well as an arboretum with century-old trees – a place where you can hide from the summer heat.

Sightseeing tour of the main attractions of the city: Victory Square, the sculpture "Fighting Bison" in front of the Koenigsberg Land Court, the monument to Peter I in front of the headquarters of the Baltic Fleet, the drama theater, the area of old German villas Amalienau, the defensive fortifications of the city, the Royal and Rosgarten Gates. 

You will definitely see the Cathedral (a sample of the North German Gothic of the XIV century), where the grave of the famous philosopher I. Kant is located, learn the history of the main church of the city, the University of Albertina and, of course, Koenigsberg itself. 

You will take a virtual walk through Konigsberg at the beginning of the XX century in the walls of the Friedland Gate, visit the Marzipan Museum, where you will learn all about the famous sweet marzipan.

You will travel to a city of historical significance, rich in sights from different eras: the ruins of the medieval castle-fortress of Insterburg of the XIV century; the magnificent building of the Reformed church of 1883 (now the Orthodox St. Michael's Cathedral of the Chernyakhovo—Slavsky diocese); the Catholic church of St. Bruno, built in the Neo-Gothic style in 1902; charming the old architecture of the city of Insterburg, which was very similar to pre-war Berlin. 

Tsar Peter I personally visited Insterburg, as well as the Great Embassy of 1697. 

In reminder of the era of the Napoleonic Wars — a monument to the hero of the Russian Empire, Field Marshal M.B. Barclay de Tolly and a monument to a Russian soldier, the work of the famous Russian sculptor V. Surovtsev; the house where Napoleon stayed in 1812. 

During the First World War, the troops of the 1st Russian Imperial Army were stationed in the city.  

And, of course, a monument to General I.D. Chernyakhovsky, commander of the 3rd Belorussian Front, whose name the city proudly bears. The Normandy-Niemen squadron with French pilots was based in the city at the end of World War II.

The history of the founding of cities by the Teutonic Order, the traditional layout and the main buildings. 

Pravdinsk. The small town of Friedland entered the European history of the Napoleonic Wars as the site of a major battle between the Russian and French armies in 1807. 

Numerous sights remind you of this. The majestic Gothic Friedland Church, now St. George's Church, part of the medieval city fortifications in Pravdinsk.

You will visit the place where the famous "Tilsit Peace" was concluded. 

The city of Tilsit, now Sovetsk on the banks of the Neman River, entered European history as the meeting place in 1807 of the rulers of the Russian Empire, France and the Kingdom of Prussia — Emperor Alexander I, Napoleon Bonaparte and the royal couple of Prussia, King Frederick William III and Queen Louise.  

To mark the 100th anniversary of the signing of the peace, the Queen Louise Bridge was built over the Neman River — the symbol of the city. 

You will walk along the river embankment, approach the house where the Russian Emperor Alexander I stayed during the days of the signing of the peace. 

The main pedestrian street of the old town will lead you to the new museum of the city "Tilsit World", where the atmosphere of the XIX century is recreated in rooms with authentic antiques. 

Visit to the exposition of the private Tilsit World Museum (a Russian passport is required). 

Also, while walking around the city, you will see the main sights of the city: the monument to Queen Louise in the old city park, the sculpture of an elk by L. Vordermeier, as well as monuments important to our national history: the monument to the Soviet soldier-liberator, V.I. Lenin and the first Soviet settlers who moved here from the Second World War and raised this region from the post-war devastation. 

You will feel the magical beauty of the ancient buildings, miraculously preserved during the battles.

On a guided tour in the city of Baltiysk, the previously closed base of the Baltic Fleet, you will learn the history of the formation of the fleet since its foundation by Peter I, to whom a monument was erected on the city pier in 1998. 

You will see the lighthouse of the famous architect Schinkel, the reformatory church, which became an Orthodox church, and the Swedish fortress, which was built in the middle of the XVII century and which is still an active military facility. 

You will see the strait — the gateway to the Kaliningrad commercial and military ports, warships and civilian vessels moored at the city's waterfront.

You will see the largest equestrian monument in our country to Empress Elizabeth Petrovna (2004). 

The pedestal of the monument is decorated in the form of a fort, from the observation deck of which you will see an extensive panorama overlooking the Baltic Spit, the sea Strait and the ships standing in the roadstead. 

Walking along the pier and the beach of the Baltic Sea, you will feel a real sea breeze.

In your free time, you can visit the Swedish Fortress on your own (visiting is only for citizens of the Russian Federation! It is mandatory to have a passport of the Russian Federation) or the museum of the Baltic Fleet.

Route: ruins of Schaaken Castle, Schaakendorf cheese factory, Nesselbeck Castle.

It is impossible to visit the Kaliningrad region without photographing the mysterious castles.

According to the program, we will visit the ruins of Shaaken Castle in the village of Nekrasovo. Its distinctive feature is an unusual oval shape, the Teutonic Order never built similar castles again. 

A tour of the castle grounds will take you back to the Middle Ages. The impressions will be complemented by the museum of the Inquisition in the cellars of the castle. 

A delicious and interesting addition will be a visit to the Schaakendorf cheese factory with a story about the production of cheeses and chocolate and a tasting with a glass of wine. 

Here you can also buy cheeses and chocolates in the manufacturer's branded store. 

Photo pause at the modern Nesselbeck Castle in the village. Orlovka, where the famous brewery restaurant is located.  

If desired, you can stay here for lunch and return to Kaliningrad on your own.
