Transfer to Gvardeysk.
In this city, you can see the place where the Pregolya River splits into two streams: the Deima carries its waters to the Curonian Lagoon, and the Pregolya – further to Kaliningrad. The architecture of the main square with the town hall has been preserved almost completely.
The city is also famous for the fact that it was here that Tvardovsky completed his monumental work "Vasily Terkin".
The singing clock of Gvardeysk.
Time for a snack at one of the cafes along the route.
Visit to the castle of the Teutonic Order — Tapiau.
The castle has a history of 7 centuries! Nicolaus Copernicus lived here in the 16th century. The castle was also the temporary residence of the first Duke of Prussia, Albrecht of Brandenburg.
Currently, tourists can see well-preserved castle buildings and artifacts from previous centuries. The castle building is being reconstructed, and the museum exposition is being expanded.
Next, you will have an exciting trip to the Schaackendorf cheese factory, which is located in the reconstructed building of the castle stable.
Here you can see all the fruits of the laborious cheese production process with the possibility of tasting it, and the cheese factory also has its own shop where, in addition to cheese, you can buy handmade chocolates, candies and marzipan.
During the cheese tasting, a glass of wine will be offered (for children, wine will be replaced with fruit drinks).
Transfer to Guryevsk.
Guided tour of the reconstructed Neuhausen Castle.
The German Crusader knights appeared here in 1255 and destroyed the powerful fortification of the Prussians ("Vurgval") that existed on the territory of present-day Guryevsk.
In 1262, a wooden fortress named Neuhausen was built on the base of large boulders left over from the fortification. Thirty years later, Bishop Christian von Muhlhausen ordered the construction of a residence here – a real knight's castle.
Throughout its history, it has been rebuilt many more times. The castle has preserved 13th—century basements to this day, and on the first and second floors there are beautiful Gothic ceilings with cross and star vaults.
The duration of the tour is 8 hours.
Transfer to the airport at the end of the tour.
