  • Day 1 - Volgograd. Transfer to Elista

    09:00-09:45 Meeting of tourists at the airport / railway station in Volgograd.

    10:30 Brunch at the Elite cafe in Volgograd (included in the price).

    11:10 a.m. Meet Volgograd (2 hours).

    The main places and the rich history of the "city of three names" on an eventful sightseeing tour.

    Volgograd was once called Tsaritsyn and Stalingrad. You will hear about different eras of the city's life, recall ancient legends and legends, get acquainted with local traditions and visit the main height of Russia — Mamayev Kurgan. And you will also reveal how Volgograd is connected with the Guinness Book of Records!

    You will see all the iconic sights of the city: kilometer zero, the square of the Fallen Fighters, the Eternal Flame and Pavlov's House, where Soviet soldiers heroically defended themselves for 58 days. 

    Take a walk along the central embankment and the Alley of Heroes, appreciate the modern Volgograd Arena stadium and explore the ruins of the Gergardt steam mill of the early 20th century. 

    You will also visit the famous memorial complex "To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad" on Mamayev Kurgan and watch the changing of the guard of honor in the Hall of Military Glory.

    Today Volgograd is a major industrial and cultural center. 

    You will not only observe his modern life, but also travel through time. 

    Suddenly you will hear the sound of the Golden Horde's hooves and the cannonade of Pugachev's troops. 

    You will also see the white stone church, where, according to legend, the future ataman Stepan Razin was baptized. 

    We will also visit old Tsaritsyn, a fortress city, defender of the southern borders of Russia and the center of Orthodoxy on the Volga.

    13:30 Departure to Elista (290 km, 4 hours).

    14:40 Medical stop in Dubovy ravine. There is a cafe, coffee and tea are purchased independently.

    16:00 Stop at Khlebnikov field, Maloderbetovsky district, Kalmykia (90 km from Volgograd)

    Velimir Khlebnikov is a poet, novelist, founder of Russian futurism and a major figure of Russian avant—gardism. According to Roman Yakobson, he was the greatest world poet of the 20th century.

    The birthplace of the greatest poet of the Silver Age is the Kalmyk village of Malye Derbety. It was there (October 26, Old style) that Viktor Khlebnikov (the real name of the writer) was born on November 9, 1885, and became the third child of Vladimir and Ekaterina Khlebnikov. 

    Vladimir Khlebnikov's father belonged to an ancient merchant family, was an ornithologist and forester, and founded the Astrakhan Nature Reserve, the first in the Soviet Union. Thanks to him, Victor fell in love with nature and became interested in natural sciences.

    16:30 Continue to Elista (200 km, 2.5 hours).

    19:00 Arrival in Elista.

    19:15 Dinner at a Kalmyk cuisine cafe, European cuisine on request (included in the price).

Personal equipment you need for the tour

The winds are always blowing in the steppes, so be sure to bring windproof clothes with you.

Do not forget to take sunscreen, the minimum protection is SPF 20-30, and possibly SPF 50, it all depends on your phototype.

In order to prevent a tick bite when traveling to the steppe, shoes should be closed and trousers tucked into socks.
