Autumn Kamchatka

It's +9 hours from Moscow. That is, if it is 12:00 in Moscow, then 21:00 in Kamchatka.

The season of mosquitoes and midges in Kamchatka begins in June and lasts until about the end of July. There are also insects in August, but there are much fewer of them than at the beginning of the season. In September, they are practically not annoying.

Basically, insects are most active near rivers and lakes. High in the mountains, when climbing or during boat trips, there are practically none, because the wind does its job. 

In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Yelizov, the situation with mosquitoes, midges, horseflies, etc. is calmer than in other areas. 

Most of the mosquitoes live in the central part of Kamchatka, and a tick can also be caught there (these insect species are imported, they are not endemic to the peninsula). 

• sprays of the Gardex line;
• repellent and insecticidal line of Deta products;
• mosquito nets (relevant for multi-day hikes).

The order of the program days may vary, mainly due to bad weather. In such a case, the program provides a spare day.

When buying tickets, it is important to take into account the flight time and the time difference between the departure point and Kamchatka. 

For example, if your program starts on April 1, it means that you need to be in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on April 1. In that case, fly out of Moscow, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk need March 31. You can fly from Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Sakhalin and Blagoveshchensk on the same date if there is a suitable flight. 

You cannot arrive the next day, regardless of what is indicated in your program. Due to the weather, changes may be made to the program procedure, and then you may skip departure, for which no refund is provided under such conditions. 

The last day of the program is the day of departure.

You can leave at any time on that day or later. 

You arrive in Moscow on the same day and hour that you took off. With most cities in Russia, everything happens about the same way, maybe an hour late.

The peculiarity of Kamchatka is that all the most interesting and beautiful things are located far off-road. In reality, not every experienced driver and not every trained car can overcome 80 km on the map. 

Here, only part of the way runs along the road, the rest is an accurate understanding of the direction, confident use of the capabilities of your equipment, knowledge of the smallest nuances and changes to date: a snowfield over a river can thaw, for example, in one day. 

An experienced guide-driver will pay attention to a small new crack in it, but a beginner on this road will not and will fail. And along the way you need to overcome snowfields, sharp ascents and descents, dry riverbeds and fords, drive along a deep track. 

Often, machines prepared for such obstacles need additional help — a winch, a shovel and control of the situation help out. 

Therefore, in a simple city car, you can just drive around the city and to the Halaktyrsky beach in the summer, if the road has been cleared there. All jeep tours require trained equipment and an experienced driver.
