Trails of Pyatigorsk

Pyatigorsk is a "natural museum of mineral waters", acquaintance with which will begin with a walking tour, where you will see the main attractions of the resort: the Aeolian Harp, Diana's grotto, Flower Garden Park, as well as visit the Drinking Gallery and Shameless baths.

During the excursion program, you will climb Mount Mashuk, which occupies a special place in history and literature. 

The height of the mountain reserve is almost 994 m, the ascent to it will take place along the trail of the Bernardazzi brothers, the main architects of the city. 

At the top, an observation deck offers views of the surrounding area and the Main Caucasian Ridge, headed by Elbrus.

Departure to Kislovodsk by Lastochka train (departure from Pyatigorsk railway station at 8:33*, ticket included in the tour price).

After walking through the Middle Park, you will go up to the Mountain Park.

While walking along the slopes of the Dzhinalsky ridge, you will admire the views of the city, but to explore Elbrus you need to climb the Small Saddle mountain. 

Although it is low — only 1,325 m above sea level — it rises 500 m above Kislovodsk, which makes the mountain an excellent observation point.

If you wish to see the mountains - the laccoliths of Pyatigorsk — Beshtau and Mashuk — as well as the endless spurs of the Pasture range, relax among the mountain grasses overlooking Elbrus, you can climb the observation deck Bolshoe Sedlo (1400 m above sea level).

After rest and lunch (dry ration) you will find your way back on foot along one of the park's terrains.

Duration of the walk: about 5 hours.

Transfer to Zheleznovodsk, where you will climb Mount Zheleznaya and visit the most interesting sights of the resort park, among which are magnificent ancient architectural monuments such as the cottage of the Emir of Bukhara, Pushkin Gallery, stone of Desires.

The first mountain that you will meet on the way is the Iron One. 

After climbing the serpentine to the top of the mountain, you can enjoy a bird's-eye view of the beautiful panorama of the Laccolith mountains and the city of Zheleznovodsk itself. 

Next, the terrencourt will lead you to the cave of primitive man, Saltpeter Rocks and to Mount Razvalka, a natural monument, an ancient volcano riddled with tunnels. *

After walking into the bowels of the mountain along the Northwestern tunnel, you can get acquainted with such a unique phenomenon as "summer permafrost".

On request, on this day, for an additional fee, you can visit the "Italian Baths" — the best thermal resort in the South of Russia (visit only for persons over 14 years old). In thermals, Slavic-type water is indicated for diseases of the nervous system and sensory organs, organs of support and movement, genitourinary system, respiratory organs. The complex has an aroma sauna, hammam, Roman bath, salt sauna, relaxation pool, snow, font, Kneipp path, impressions shower, outdoor pools with different water temperatures and water attractions.

The program of the day can be adjusted depending on the degree of preparation of the group.

Transfer to the foot of Mount Beshtau, the highest peak of the Caucasian Mineral Waters — 1,402 m. 

"Five mountains" is how the name of the mountain is translated from the Turkic language. 

That is why the resort town, lying at the foot of the famous laccolith, was named Pyatigorsk, and the entire region as a whole is commonly called Pyatigorsk. 

The ascent to the top will take place along the trail laid by the Caucasian Mining Society back in 1902. 

Climbing to the top will take from 1.5 to 3 hours and will require physical expenses, however, they will be more than repaid by the impressions and incredible landscapes!

From the top of the mountain, in clear weather, a magnificent panorama opens, giving unforgettable impressions — all the peaks of Pyatigorsk, the mountain ranges of the Greater Caucasus will appear before you, and at the head of all — the legendary, eternally snowy Elbrus!

You can spend this day exploring the resort on your own: walk around the resort area, buy souvenirs or visit the city market.

If desired, you can go with the whole group on a bus tour to the mountains — visit the Chegem waterfalls or the mountain resorts of Dombay, Elbrus, Arkhyz.
