Itinerary

Day 1 - The beginning of an incredible New Year's adventure in Karelia
We will meet at the Petrozavodsk railway station under the clock on the main building from the platform (according to the arrival time of train No. 18 Moscow — Petrozavodsk).
We go to a restaurant for breakfast to immediately set ourselves up for a great adventure.
The buffet is at your service — here everyone will find a treat to their liking.
Let's get on the buses and go on an adventure!
The first stop is the Kizhi Museum—Reserve. This is not only a famous island, but also presentation and exhibition centers and huge funds that are located in the capital of the Republic of Karelia - in the city of Petrozavodsk.
Throughout the year, exhibitions dedicated to the historical and cultural heritage of the region are exhibited here.
Here we will not only get acquainted with the expositions of the museum, but also take part in a master class on Karelian crafts.
We have lunch and, accompanied by our guide, go for a walk along the Onega embankment. Believe me, there is something to see here!
The Petrozavodsk Embankment is a real open—air sculpture museum.
The sculptures are gifts to the city from the twin cities of Finland, Germany, the USA, France, Norway and Sweden.
The acquaintance with the city ends, and we take buses to the Cloudberry base (about 1 hour on the way), where we spend the outgoing year and celebrate the new year.
The recreation center "Cloudberry" is located among the centuries-old ship pines on the picturesque shore of the Syamozer, one of the largest and most beautiful lakes in Karelia.
Here you can forget about the intense rhythm of urban life, enjoy the clean northern air, relax your soul and feel inner peace.
Let's go check in and have dinner.
After dinner, we rest a little, and in the late afternoon we participate in a master class on cooking Karelian wickets. We not only sculpt, but also taste.
Kalitka is perhaps the most "national" and very favorite dish of Karelian and Vepsian cuisine. This is an open patty stuffed with potatoes, porridge or red fish, made from rye (or a mixture of rye and wheat) flour.
There is still a little time left before bedtime, we can walk around the recreation center or go to our rooms.
Tomorrow we will have a busy day, so we need to rest properly and gain strength.

Day 2 - A trip to the ancient village of Rubchoila and the Three Bears Zoo complex
We wake up and go to breakfast. The most magical night of the year awaits us today!
After breakfast and on the buses we hit the road. Today is a very busy day!
The first stop is the ancient village of Rubchoila.
It was founded by the Karelians more than 300 years ago.
Today it is a unique complex monument of folk wooden architecture of Karelia of the XIX century, which includes 18 peasant houses, including black baths.
The keeper of the traditions of the village tells about the history, way of life, traditions of the indigenous people.
Among all the buildings, the Ermolaev house stands out, which now houses the ethnographic museum.
Here we not only get acquainted with the exposition, during gatherings in a real Karelian house, a folklore group performs for us, which sings folk songs in Karelian and Russian.
We listen and try our hand during a folklore master class.
No one lets the guests go hungry — local housewives treat us to a rustic lunch consisting of dishes of national Karelian cuisine.
Next, we are heading to the Three Bears zoo complex.
The zoo complex "Three Bears" is located in a pine forest, on the shore of Lake Syamozero.
Bears, moose, striped raccoons, raccoon dogs, lynxes, wolves, ferrets, chinchillas, arctic foxes and many others live in wooden pavilions on the territory of the complex.
Many consider the energetic and graceful Far Eastern leopard Musya to be the main "star" of the zoo complex.
Dima the mountain goat, appetizingly eating carrots in his pen, greets people with a piercing bleat.
One of the most remarkable places of the zoo complex is the bear house — the guests are presented in turn to the white-breasted Himalayan Mota, two of our brown "compatriots" Sasha and Masha and, finally, the young giant Timofey, a native of distant Kamchatka.
However, the biggest beast here is the Potap, which is striking in its size.
We drink hot tea.
We take the buses back to the base — dinner will be ready for our arrival there.
After dinner, we are preparing for the New Year's Eve! We dress up and preen up. We are gaining strength for New Year's Eve.
At about 22:00, we meet at the restaurant for a New Year's banquet and begin to see off the outgoing year 2023.
We sum up the results of the outgoing year, remember all the good things that happened to us, make plans for the next year and dream.
The chimes are striking! New Year 2024! Hurray! We make a wish and congratulate each other!
We are having fun and participating in the festive program.

Day 3 - The first day of the New Year!
Today we are not in a hurry, the day passes slowly, we rest, breathe the frosty air.
Children are playing and having fun outside. The whole base is transformed to the sounds of children's laughter.
Adults can devote this time to themselves: go back to the room and sleep a little more, or just lie in bed.
After all, the party was a great success yesterday! You can walk around the base or enjoy the first day of the New Year with the children.
We have dinner and go to the sauna.
We rest our body, relax, relieve fatigue and tension.

Day 4 - On a visit to Karelian Santa Claus
We wake up and go to breakfast. Today it is important to have a hearty breakfast, the day promises to be eventful!
Having refreshed ourselves, we go to get acquainted with the instructors and pick up equipment, because today we are going on a snowmobile safari.
We are listening attentively to the instruction on snowmobile management.
We overcome a section of the highway along the paths of the winter forest and begin a real safari in the expanses of the frozen lake Syamozero.
We gradually increase our speed, feel confident and incredibly free!
We get a huge charge of joy and energy from this short but bright rental. And we do not miss the opportunity to take a photo riding an iron horse.
We have lunch at the base and go to a long-awaited meeting with Karelian Santa Claus!
By the way, you can come to the patrimony both in winter and in summer. We were lucky to get here at the most fabulous time of the year.
Grandpa has a beautiful house here, a team of tundra deer, huskies and malamutes!
By the way, you can get to know huskies and malamutes better: dogs are very affectionate and like to take pictures with guests.
In the wizard's domain, we participate in an active program — the Northern Saga.
Let's touch the beautiful world of the Far North and the original culture of the ancient Sami, learn more about the inhabitants of the Talviukko farmstead and be sure to make new friends!
And we'll also take a ride on a real Finnish potkuri sleigh.
After diving into the world of the Karelian epic and the ancient peoples of Karelia, we go to drink fragrant herbal tea with Karelian pies and gates.
Visiting the Talviukko patrimony and the Karelian tea party fills us with warmth, cheerfulness, great mood, and our phones are great memories of our journey.
We still have some free time to wander around this fabulous place, take pictures with the locals and Talviukko's assistants.
We return to Petrozavodsk by bus.
We're going to have dinner at a place we already know. The buffet pleases with its variety.
We are not in a hurry, after dinner we take the bus to the train station.
We leave by evening trains from the Petrozavodsk railway station.
