Itinerary

Day 1 - Sortavala. On meteors to Valaam Island
For those who cannot start the tour in Sortavala, it is possible to leave Petrozavodsk at 04:00 in the morning by our bus, without additional payment.
08:20 Meeting of the group and gathering at the railway station of Sortavala. Our guide will meet you with a sign at the main entrance to the Sortavala railway station.
08:40 Breakfast at the cafe.
09:10-10:50 Sightseeing tour of Sortavala with a visit to the main attractions of the city.
It is one of two Russian cities with Swedish roots (the second is Vyborg). The architecture here is an incredible mix of cultures – Swedish, Finnish, Soviet, Russian.
11:00 Departure by meteors to Valaam Island. The holy island is not so far away – only 22 kilometers.
11:50-16:50 Arrival at Valaam, sightseeing tour of the central manor of the monastery, performance of the male choir, lunch in the monastery refectory.
We will visit the Transfiguration Cathedral, where the relics of Saints Sergius and Herman, the founders of the monastery, are located. The New Jerusalem tour will reveal unknown fragments of the island's history. We will visit the Resurrection Hermitage.
16:50-17:50 Return trip by meteor to Sortavala.
18:00 Visit to the Kronid Gogolev Art Gallery. We will see an exhibition of paintings made in a unique manner of wood carving.
19:00 Check-in at the hotel, dinner, free time and rest.

Day 2 - Ruskeala Mountain Park
08:45 Breakfast, room release in Sortavala.
09:30 Departure to the Ruskeala Mountain Park by bus, those who wish can take the retro train (10:00 Sortavala — Ruskeala railway).
Tickets for the retro train are not included in the price of the tour and are purchased independently at 10:05 on the Sortavala — Ruskeala route. You must purchase tickets yourself, in advance, on the Russian Railways website.
Those who do not want to take a retro train — we go with a guide and part of the group by bus to Ruskeala.
10:45 Arrival at Ruskeala, sightseeing tour (1.5 hours).
A unique quarry, which, according to one version, was flooded by the Finns with water from nearby rivers. After all, it was the Finns who rented this quarry for many years, mined marble here.
Free time.
14:15 Visit to the Tokhmin waterfalls. On the way, not far from Ruskeala, we will see the Tokhmin or Ruskeala waterfalls. The famous Soviet film "And the dawns are quiet here..." was shot here.
18:45 Arrival in Petrozavodsk, check-in at the hotel, rest.

Day 3 - Petrozavodsk and Kizhi Island
Breakfast at the hotel.
08:30 Transfer to Petrozavodsk river station.
Welcome to the capital of Karelia – the city of Petrozavodsk. The port of the five seas, located on the shore of the second largest freshwater body in Europe – Lake Onega.
09:30-17:00 Excursion to Kizhi Island.
From the Petrozavodsk river station, we take a meteor to a beautiful island in Lake Onega, where masterpieces of northern wooden architecture are collected. Kizhi is a unique open—air museum, a UNESCO monument and a very pleasant place, first of all, for the soul.
The tour price includes a visit to the main exposition of the Kizhi Museum, namely, an inspection of the appearance of all monuments on the island, as well as a visit to the interiors of the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the house of Oshevnev from D. Oshevnevo or Elizarov's house from D. The middle (by the decision of the guide, in the summer).
Return to Petrozavodsk by comet.
17:00-19:00 Bus and walking tour of Petrozavodsk.
We will visit the Round Square (the Architectural Ensemble and the Governor's Park), walk around the city center, explore the Cathedral Square, visit the main attraction — Onega Embankment.

Day 4 - Mount Sampo. The resort "Marcial waters". Girvas volcano. Kivach Waterfall
Breakfast at the hotel, room release, key collection at the reception.
09:00 Departure for the tour.
We will visit four major attractions near Petrozavodsk: the picturesque Sampo Mountain, the first Russian resort "Marcial Waters", the ancient volcano Girvas and the famous Kivach waterfall.
During the tour, we will stop at a cafe where you can eat and gain strength. And then – return to Petrozavodsk.
17:00 Arrival in Petrozavodsk, free time.
Suitcases can be left in the hotel's luggage room in the morning or taken with you on the bus — there is a luggage compartment.

You don't have to take all your things with you — we will return to Petrozavodsk, to the same hotel (you can leave your things in the luggage room, and take the most necessary things with you).
