Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Transfer from St. Petersburg to Karelia. Rafting on the Shuya River and picnic (for an additional fee)

We're getting ready to hit the road and leave for the Republic of Lakes and Forests.

One night in a comfortable bus – and we are in the "land of undeterred birds"!

In the meantime, the journey begins, admire the magnificent natural landscapes from the window!

At 07:00 St. Petersburg (Oktyabrskaya Hotel, Ligovsky Prospekt, 10/118).

~ 13:30 The "Cultural capital" of Karelia is the city of Kondopoga.

Accommodation in rooms of the Karelia 3* hotel (Kondopoga, Lenin Square, 5).

Lunch in the hotel's cafe is a buffet (for an additional fee).

For an additional fee, we offer a rest in a pine forest on the Shuya River with a picnic or rafting on inflatable rafts along the river.

Safe rafting on the Shuya River + picnic + tasting of national drinks for adults (rafting on Shuya is not provided in September).

The duration of the rafting trip together with the transfer is about 6 hours.

There are no age restrictions, children over the age of 12 can participate in rafting unaccompanied by their parents.

Experienced instructors will provide safety instructions and teach you how to properly fasten your life jacket and helmet. They will show the technique of raft control and reveal the secret of the magic word "taban".

We will walk along the Shuya River with them and arrange a ride on the threshold of the Big Toll.

For those going on a picnic— rest in a pine forest, walking through the forest, swimming in the river, picking berries and mushrooms (according to the season).

As a compliment, a tourist bath. (2 two-section tents with a stove (men's and women's) — keep the temperature of the Russian bath).

A shared picnic by the campfire.

The menu includes Karelian trout soup, buckwheat with stew, salad of fresh vegetables, hot tea with lemon and biscuits. And, of course, the "victorious" 150 g of Karelian alcoholic beverages for adults.

    Return to the hotel.

For non-rafting travelers, lunch at the hotel cafe for an additional fee (buffet/cover).

I really enjoyed the tour, even despite the snowfall. The itinerary was packed with activities and experiences - so much so that by the second day we were feeling pleasantly tired. The lunches were excellent, and we were glad we chose to include them. The organization was outstanding, and our guide, Nelli, was wonderful. She shared a wealth of interesting information and presented it in a way that kept everyone engaged throughout the trip. The Druzhba Hotel was quite good overall. The breakfasts offered a wide variety of dishes, and the location was convenient, not far from the city center. There was also a supermarket nearby, which was very handy. A few practical notes for future travelers: standard rooms are equipped with 2 separate beds rather than 1 large bed. Slippers and bathrobes are not provided. A hairdryer was available, but the complimentary shower gel and shampoo packets were quite small .
