Day 1 - The Kalevala Universe exhibition. Petrozavodsk and Shungite Cave Sightseeing Tour
Arrival in Petrozavodsk by train No. 018 A.

Visit to the Kalevala Universe exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Karelia.
The Kalevala is truly a national treasure. The epic had a huge impact on the development of the Karelian and Finnish languages, literature, culture, and national identity of the two peoples.
The deep and eternal themes, motifs and images of Kalevala are a source of inspiration for writers, artists, sculptors, and composers from different countries. A new reading of the eternal theme is the challenge and need of today!
At the new exhibition, the viewer will experience an immersive journey along the path to the rune forest with the sounds of kantele, immerse themselves in the theme of the birth of the world and meet the heroes, the unusual installation "Pike" will reveal the secrets of folk life, share a brewing recipe and allow them to inhale the aromas of Kalevala, and the waters of the Tuonela River will take guests beyond the boundaries of the familiar world!
Sightseeing tour of Petrozavodsk.
You will see the architectural ensemble of the Round Square, the Governor's Garden, the Theater Square, the embankment of Lake Onega with the world's only open-air museum of modern avant-garde sculpture.
A visit to the unique Shungit.Life facility, which manufactures products from the most useful mineral on earth — shungite from the Zazhoginsky deposit. The homeland of shungite is Zaonezhye, one of the most distinctive places in Karelia and the Russian North. Recently, shungite has become known far beyond the borders of Karelia due to its properties.
Visitors to our region tend to buy products made of this unique stone. And what is its uniqueness? Is it only found in Zaonezhye? Are his extraordinary qualities valid? Day 2 - Ruskeala Mountain Park

Transfer to Ruskeala Mountain Park (258 km).
On the way, stop at Tohmajoki Waterfall.
This is a very picturesque place, the waterfall flows into a small lake closed from all sides by high shores, from different shores of which there are different views of the waterfall.

Ruskeala Marble Canyon Tour.

17:00 For those who wish, there is an opportunity to travel on the legendary retro train "Ruskeala Express" No. 922A.
The Ruskeala Express is the only daily steam–powered train in Russia. The carriages are made in the style of the Nikolaevsky Express train from the time of Imperial Russia in the early 20th century.
The train consists of a first class carriage, compartment carriages and a dining car. Tickets for train No. 922A are purchased independently on the Russian Railways website for open sale.

The Valley of the Hares is a place that is open to both adults and children. And what could be more impressive than a rock with a thousand hares? Artist Sergey Gapanovich set out to carve 1,000 hares on a rock, and now he has managed to embody about 600 hares.
Everyone will find for themselves the reason why hares live in the valley, and perhaps they will want to become the owner of a new big-eared animal on the body of the rock.
Sampo Mountain climb.
Mount Sampo is a rocky ridge that was formed during the movement of a glacier thousands of years ago. Its height is about 40 m.
People of any age and level of training can climb the mountain: there are hiking trails, stairs, and observation decks.
The reward for those who walk the path is a stunning view of the forest and the lake with islands. According to legend, ancient people performed rituals here.
Visit to the first Russian resort "Marcial waters".
Marcial Waters is the first Russian resort. Tsar Peter, who founded it, visited these regions four times and advised everyone to drink iron-rich water found in local springs for health.
By the way, the church of the Apostle Peter of the XVIII century, built according to the sketches of Peter himself, has been preserved here. You will be able to see everything with your own eyes, drink healing water and take it with you.
Lunch.
Kivach Nature Reserve with a visit to one of the largest lowland waterfalls in Europe. Kivach is a waterfall framed by diabase rocks.
The Song River, which is slow until a certain time, suddenly breaks down in seething streams, overcoming four ledges, which makes the waterfall very spectacular.
Inspection of the Karelian birch arboretum.
The arboretum Collection, founded in 1948, is the result of scientific experiments on the cultivation in Karelia of fast—growing, technically valuable and suitable for landscaping cities and towns of tree and shrub species from other climatic zones.
Return to Petrozavodsk.
