Itinerary

  • Day 1 - City tour of Petrozavodsk. Kindasovo village. "Kantele's House"

    Arrival in Petrozavodsk by morning trains (before 10:00), gathering of the group at the main entrance to the railway station. The landmark is a guide with a sign.

    08:00 – 09:00 Breakfast in the restaurant.

    09:00 – 11:00 City tour of Petrozavodsk with a walk along the Onega Embankment, an open-air museum where the alley of modern art is located.

    You will see beautiful monuments, unusual art objects and avant-garde sculptures presented to Petrozavodsk by the twin cities.

    11:00 – 14:30 Excursion to the Karelian village of Kindasovo.

    We will begin our acquaintance with Karelian folk art with the cheerful village of Kindasovo, which fully reflects the mischievous and cheerful spirit of our region.

    During the tour, you will be introduced to the history of the small village of Kindasovo from ancient times to the present day, will be shown local attractions and the world's only monument to Rukavytsya.

    After fragrant tea infused with Karelian herbs and Karelian keitepiyrat pies, you will enjoy fun Karelian dances and accordion playing.

    The hospitable and welcoming villagers will not let you go without a good mood and sparkling eyes with laughter.

    14:30 – 15:30 Lunch at the restaurant.

    15:30 – 17:00 It's time to discover the other side of Karelian folklore — elegant and sublime.

    Excursion to the "Kantele House" with a master class.

    An interesting tour in one of the cultural centers of Petrozavodsk — "Kantele House".

    The kantele is a national musical instrument of the ethnic groups living in the territory of Karelia. Now the kantele is considered a symbol of Karelian musical culture.

    In the process of exploring the monastery of Karelian melodies, you will be initiated into the secrets of instrument production, introduced to the history of the creation of the musical ensemble "Kantele", after which a workshop for the production of Karelian national costumes will open its doors for you.

    Let's spend some time learning how to play the kantel.

    Everything was perfectly organized. The weather let us down on the last day, but it didn’t stop us from going on the excursion to Mount Sekirnaya. A special thanks for the Nemetski Kuzov island — its beauty is truly breathtaking.
