Day 1 - Arrival, the Kalevala Universe exhibition and a sightseeing tour of Petrozavodsk

For groups from St. Petersburg - arrival at 07:00 by train No. 12. Tourists are waiting for the arrival of train No. 018.

Visit to the Kalevala Universe exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Karelia.
"Kalevala" is truly a national treasure. The epic had a huge impact on the development of the Karelian and Finnish languages, literature, culture, and national identity of the two peoples.
At the new exhibition, the viewer will have an immersive journey along the path to the rune forest with the sounds of kantele, immersion in the theme of the birth of the world and acquaintance with the characters.
The unusual installation "Pike" will reveal the secrets of folk life, share a brewing recipe and allow you to inhale the aromas of Kalevala, and the waters of the Tuonela River will take guests beyond the familiar world!
Sightseeing tour of Petrozavodsk (the architectural ensemble of the Round Square, the Governor's Garden, Theater Square, the embankment of Lake Onega with the world's only open-air museum of modern avant-garde sculpture).

Day 2 - Ruskeala Mountain Park and Sortavala sightseeing tour
Breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
Transfer to Ruskeala Mountain Park (258 km).
On the way, stop at the Tohmajoki Waterfall. This is a very picturesque place — the waterfall flows into a small lake closed from all sides by high shores, from different shores of which there are various views of the waterfall.
Tour of the marble canyon “Ruskeala". You will get acquainted with the unique natural landscapes.
For more than 70 years (until the middle of the nineteenth century), decorative light gray marble was broken out in local quarries to decorate the temples and palaces of St. Petersburg, the fountains of Petrodvorets, the columns of Tsarskoye Selo and Gatchina.
Departure from the Mountain Park.
Transfer to Sortavala.
Lunch at the cafe.
Sightseeing tour of the city of Sortavale.
Sortavala will surprise you with elegant wooden houses, boring stories and a park with wonderful views. You will be transported back a century and look at the city as an encyclopedia of Finnish architecture.
You will learn about the outstanding inhabitants of the past, hear about the rune singers and get useful tips on holidays in Karelia.
Later return to Petrozavodsk.

Day 3 - Marcial Waters, Kivach and Shungite Center
Breakfast in the hotel restaurant.
Room release.
Departure for an excursion.
Visit to the first Russian resort “Marcial Waters".
Tsar Peter I, who founded it, visited these regions four times and advised everyone to drink water saturated with iron found in local springs for health.
By the way, the church of the Apostle Peter, built in the XVIII century according to the sketches of Peter himself, has been preserved here.
You will be able to see everything with your own eyes, drink healing water and take it with you.
Lunch at the cafe.
Kivach Nature Reserve with a visit to one of the largest lowland waterfalls in Europe.
Kivach is a waterfall framed by diabase rocks. Unhurried, up to a certain time, the Song River suddenly breaks down in raging streams, overcoming four ledges. They make the waterfall very spectacular.
Inspection of the arboretum of Karelian birch.
The arboretum Collection, founded in 1948, is the result of scientific experiments on growing fast—growing, technically valuable and suitable for landscaping cities and towns of tree and shrub species from other climatic zones in Karelia.
A visit to the unique Shungit.Life facility. Products are made here from the most useful mineral on earth — shungite.
The homeland of shungite — Zaonezhye is one of the most original places in Karelia and the Russian North. Recently, shungite has become known far beyond the borders of Karelia due to its properties.
You can make up your mind by visiting the "shungite cave", where you can have a relaxation session. The walls of the room are lined with shungite tiles.
Products made of "black stone" will be offered to your attention, which you can buy as souvenirs.
Return to Petrozavodsk.
Transfer to the railway station by 18:00.
