The water world of Ladoga region

In the morning, breakfast will be organized for you at the glamping.

Yachting.

An exciting yachting training awaits you.

You will listen to the introductory lecture "The basics of yachting", and after that you will practice practicing the basic maneuvers: raising and adjusting sails, turns, mooring.

Everyone will have the opportunity to stand behind the wheel, work with ropes.

Cooking class.

The group is divided into teams of 6-7 people, the first two teams go to conquer Ladoga on yachts, the rest of the participants will have a culinary master class on cooking gravlax (lightly salted trout in the Scandinavian style).

In ancient times, the locals ate almost only fish and buried it in the ground for storage. Hence the name gravlax — "buried" salmon.

You will try to cook gravlax in a modern way.

After lunch at glamping, the teams switch places.

Those who have not tried yachting yet go on a water route. And those who have mastered the basics of yachting will try their hand at gastronomy.

In the evening, you will have dinner at the glamping and relax.

Waterfalls.

You will again have a water transfer to the shore and an off—road trip to natural and industrial facilities related to water - to hydroelectric power plants and waterfalls of the Northern Ladoga region.

The first stop is provided at the Ahvenkoski waterfalls on the Tohmajoki River. It was here that the filming of key episodes of the Soviet film "And the dawns are quiet here" took place.

Ruskealskaya HPP.

Next, you will see the Ruskeala hydroelectric power station, get acquainted with the life and history of the village of Ruskeala and take forest roads to the town of Harlu, where the old Finnish hydroelectric power station stands on the Janis River.

Explore the ruins of a metallurgical plant bombed during the Soviet-Finnish War by ace pilot Mikhail Vodopyanov. There is another man—made hydraulic structure nearby.

After a hot lunch on the riverbank, we will start towards Impilakhti ("Maiden Bay"), with its high cliffs and picturesque waterfalls.

In the village of Lyaskela you will see another operating hydroelectric power plant — an example of the industrial architecture of Finland at the turn of the century.

In the vicinity of the village of Koirinoya, you will admire the waterfall at the site of the destroyed dam and go to the pearl of Ladoga waterfalls — the "White Bridges" (Yukankoski).

Return to glamping.

Dinner will be arranged for you.

Then you can play Karelian quiz, watch a movie or spend time singing around a large campfire.

The route along the Ladoga skerries.

You will go on a circular route on motor boats along the Ladoga skerries. One of the striking features of the Ladoga skerries is the so—called "reef mountains".

Reef mountains are called mountains that break off into the lake with sheer cliffs, the height of which can reach 80 meters.

Islands of the archipelago.

You will see several significant peaks (viewpoints) Ladoga Skerries:

• the city of Riuttavuori, the view from which was captured on a Finnish 500 mark banknote in the 19th century;
• Aino, which offers a panorama of the skerries and open Ladoga (in good weather, you can see fr. Valaam);
• the town of Vakhtemyaki, also known as the "roof of Ladoga", with its unique view of the skerries.

A hot lunch in nature will be organized on the route.

The route on Havus Island.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a guided hiking route deep into Havus Island.

You will take a nature trail through the Karelian taiga.

You will see geological rocks that can be called the "ridge of the Earth": a glacier passing through the territory of Ladoga exposed very ancient stone outcrops, whose age reaches 2.5 billion years.

The culmination of the route will be an exit to the Haukkariutta rock (fin. "falcon reef").

From a height of more than 40 meters, you will again have a wonderful view of the Ladoga skerries.

In the evening, you will return to glamping, have dinner and relax.

In the morning, a Karelian-style breakfast will be served for you.

Kayaking.

You will go to Ristijarvi Lake (40 minutes on the way), where you will try your hand at kayaking.

Initially, a kayak was a vessel of the northern peoples for hunting and traveling by sea. Feel like a real Northerner :)

The name of the lake comes from the Finnish "risti" — "cross", which is associated with the cruciform shape of the lake.

High, steep cliffs of granite and granite-gneiss surround the lake from all sides and give it the appearance of a mountain lake.

Before going on the route, you will receive detailed instructions on safety and kayaking rules.

A picnic lunch awaits you on the route.

Return to glamping.

You will have dinner, then there will be free time.

If you wish, you can use additional glamping services — visit the Russian bath or the furako bath on the shore of Ladoga (for an additional fee).

In the morning, a Karelian-style breakfast will be served for you.

The route is on SUP boards.

You will listen to the instruction on the management of SUP boards and go on a route to Tikhaya Bay.

This is the most pleasant place for novice SUP boarders to really get on the board and feel confident.

You will walk along the bay, admire the unique landscapes of Ladoga and, if you are lucky, you will meet curious seals.

Lunch and excursion to the Mineral Museum.

You will have lunch at glamping, after which you will go to Sortavala.

On the way, you will have a short excursion to the Mineral Center of the Northern Ladoga region, acquaintance with shungite and other minerals of Karelia.

In Sortavala, the guide will conduct a short walking tour of the city and you will have free time for an independent dinner (extra charge) or souvenir shopping.
