Two days on the Shuya River in Karelia

Rafting on the lower Shuya is suitable for beginners who want to test themselves for the first time. 

During the weekend tour, you will pass rapids from 1 to 3 difficulty categories, which are absolutely safe, and spend the night in a tent on a beautiful riverbank. 

At the end of the rafting trip, you can have a good ride on the threshold of the "Big Tolly", kayakers from all over the country come here to train!

It is possible to organize corporate rafting for up to 40 people on request.

It is possible to conduct a tour for organized groups of 8 people or more on request on any dates, subject to availability of instructors.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Transfer to the starting point. The beginning of the alloy

    Meeting at the Petrozavodsk railway station and departure by bus to our "clearing" (28 km), where we pack our personal belongings in hermetic bags, pick up equipment, go through a briefing and have a bite to eat.

    Then we drive another 35 km to the village of Kindasovo, before going out on the water, one more technical briefing and go ahead!

    A small training session is already on the water.

    On this day, you can master the rowing technique because along the way you will encounter only one simple threshold, after several kilometers, parking, dinner by the campfire, overnight in tents.

Difficulty category 1-3. 3 difficulty category of rapids only during the flood in May, at all other times the categories of rapids on the Lower Shuya 1-2.

Rafting is suitable for everyone who wants to try this type of recreation. The water route is 25 km long, with rapids of 1-3 difficulty categories.

It's important to know

Personal equipment you need for the tour
  1. Backpack without machine tool or travel bag— do not take suitcases!
  2. Comfortable hiking clothes: neoprene suit (in May and September), thermal underwear, trousers and a light hooded jacket (anorak), a long-sleeve shirt, 2 pairs of wool socks, 2-3 pairs of plain socks, a bathing suit, T-shirts, cotton or sports gloves, a headdress with a visor, a warm jacket, a warm jacket, wool a hat, a sweater, a rain cape, a change of underwear.
  3. Shoes: hiking boots or sneakers, replacement shoes, rubber boots (at your discretion).
  4. Personal items: repellents, sunglasses, a bowl, a mug, a spoon, a knife, a flashlight with a set of spare batteries, a power bank, sunscreen and after-sun cream, a small polyurethane seat mat, personal hygiene products, and an individual first-aid kit.
  5. Documents in sealed packaging: passport, medical insurance policy.

You need to take with you:

  • several sets of clothes for being on the water and several sets for being on the shore;
  • a warm set of clothes for sleeping (jacket, pants, socks);
  • fixed-foot shoes for alloy;
  • shoes for staying on the shore.
