Itinerary

  • Day 1 - The ancient village of Kinerma and the waterfall "White Bridges"

We recommend train No. 18 Karelia, arriving in Petrozavodsk at 07:55.

After meeting at the Petrozavodsk railway station, you will drive off-road expedition vehicles to Sortavala, visiting iconic natural and historical sites of the Northern Ladoga Region along the way.

In the first half of the day, there will be a special off-road stage, which, if desired, you can pass behind the wheel of a jeep.

Breakfast is not provided, there will be a snack. We recommend having breakfast on the plane or on the train.

The first stop on the route will be the ancient Karelian village of Kinerma. Here you will have an excursion and lunch with dishes of national cuisine in an ancient museum house.

Kinerma is a monument of Karelian-Livvik folk wooden architecture and is a member of the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages in Russia. It was founded more than 440 years ago.

You will stroll through the quiet village streets among the ancient Karelian houses, visit the chapel of Our Lady of Smolensk with the iconostasis of the XVIII century and get acquainted with peasant life.

Then you will continue your journey and go to the next attraction — the picturesque waterfall "White Bridges" (Yukankoski) on the Kulismajoki River. This is the highest waterfall in the south of Karelia (height — 19 m). The road to the waterfall will pass through the Karelian taiga.

In the evening, you will arrive at the beach or the pier of a small holiday village, from where you will take motorboats or a speedboat to an island located in the very center of the Ladoga skerries (15-20 minutes on the way). This is a picturesque archipelago in the north of Lake Ladoga, consisting of many small rocky islands separated by straits.

Here you will find accommodation in a glamping, a welcome dinner from the chef with dishes of Karelian cuisine and an evening of dating.

You will spend the night in cozy hemispherical tents surrounded by a pine forest.

If desired, and for an additional fee, you can visit the Russian bathhouse or the hot tub-furako on the shore of Ladoga.

Due to weather conditions, the days may change places in the program.
