An excursion on the road to Peterhof introduces you to the picturesque landscape of the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland, the preserved estates of the St. Petersburg nobility and the history of the road, specially built for a comfortable journey from St. Petersburg to Peterhof.

Excursion to the Peterhof Fountain Park.

The lower park has an area of 102 hectares and stretches for more than 2 kilometers along the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Incredible efforts were required to transform the deserted marshy shore of the Gulf of Finland into a luxurious park with fountains and cascades. Moreover, all the work was done by hand - tons of fertile soil were brought in, ornamental trees and shrubs were planted, which were able to take root in the cold northern climate. Peterhof is the capital of fountains, a magical garden with a palace crowned with a golden vase standing on the roof. In terms of pomp and richness of design, Peterhof surpassed its prototype, the French Versailles, and became the most striking palace ensemble in Europe.

Where to have lunch?

After the excursion, you will have 1.5-2 hours of free time to walk around the park on your own and have a snack. There are fast food outlets in the park, as well as the Standart cafe, where the cost of a set lunch is 700-1500 rubles per person. If you want to save money, we recommend taking drinks and snacks with you and having a picnic on the shore of the Gulf of Finland.

Bus excursion to Tsarskoe Selo “Country Imperial Residences”.

The city is located 25 km from St. Petersburg - about an hour's drive. You will drive along the old Tsarskoye Selo road and learn how to travel in Russia before the advent of highways and railways. The luxurious and unique Catherine Palace brought particular fame to Tsarskoe Selo. This is where you will visit.

Excursion to the Catherine Palace with the Amber Room.

Guests of Tsarskoye Selo are amazed by the fantastic luxury of the decoration of the Catherine Palace. One of the halls of Rastrelli's Golden Enfilade is the famous Amber Room, stolen by the invaders during the Great Patriotic War and recreated by St. Petersburg restorers, whose work you can appreciate during a tour of the Catherine Palace.

Walk through Catherine Park.

After the tour of the palace, you will have 1.5-2 hours of free time to independently walk through the magnificent park surrounding the palace. It is decorated with exquisite pavilions, bizarrely shaped ponds and numerous monuments in honor of the victories of Russian weapons during the Russian-Turkish wars.

Where to have lunch?

There are no full-fledged food outlets within the park, only outside it. Therefore, we recommend taking drinks and snacks with you and having a picnic while walking through Catherine Park.

Bus tour “Family secrets of the House of Romanov.”

Love stories, mysterious intrigues, duels, palace coups, mystical coincidences, where each member of the reigning Romanov dynasty left his mark on the history of both our country and St. Petersburg. You will stroll along Palace Square, and a visit to the State Hermitage will reveal some secrets of the personal lives of royalty and introduce you to the luxurious Winter Palace - the ceremonial winter residence of the Russian imperial court.

Excursion to the Hermitage.

The Hermitage occupies a very special place among art museums in the world. It began as a personal meeting of Empress Catherine II and for a long time remained closed to the general public. In the middle of the 19th century the museum became public. Now its collections number more than 3.5 million exhibits. Among them are masterpieces by Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, impressionist paintings, ancient sculpture, Egyptian antiquities, a real mummy and much more.

After the museum tour, you will have the opportunity to independently walk through the halls of the Hermitage and examine its exhibits in more detail.

Bus excursion to Kronstadt “Sea Shield in the Baltic”.

The excursion introduces you to a small, proud city, the fame of which has gone far beyond its borders. Founded by Peter I, Kronstadt was for many years the naval defender of St. Petersburg and the main base of the Baltic Fleet. You will see monuments to great naval commanders, sea harbors where military campaigns, scientific expeditions and circumnavigations began.

Visit to St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral.

The Naval Cathedral in Kronstadt, consecrated in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, is the main naval temple of Russian sailors. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century as a temple-monument to all sailors who died for the Fatherland. You will visit the St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral, where you will get acquainted with its unique interior decoration and maritime relics.

Visit to the museum-historical park “Island of Forts”.

This is the first and largest park in Russia dedicated to the navy. On an area of 9 hectares there are several thematic sites. You can walk along the Alley of Heroes of the Russian Navy, which tells about more than three centuries of its history, see the memory lighthouse with 200 names of heroic sailors, from the era of Peter I to the present day, and look into the apple orchard with a pond.

Boat trip around the forts of Kronstadt.

A boat trip will be a great addition to an excursion to Kronstadt. You will walk along the main Kronstadt roadstead, see the fortresses that were built right in the water on artificial foundations near the island of Kotlin, and breathe in the sea, but unsalted air of the Gulf of Finland!

The State Russian Museum is the world's largest collection of Russian fine art. The museum's collections number about 400:000 exhibits. They present works of all main trends and schools of Russian fine art, all its types and genres from the 10th to the 20th centuries. Bus excursion to Pavlovsk.

In the necklace of suburban palace and park ensembles, Pavlovsk is the youngest. Its history began in 1777, when a palace was built on the high bank of the Slavyanka River and a luxurious park was established, which became one of the best landscape parks in Europe. Unlike the official residences of Tsarskoe Selo and Peterhof, Pavlovsk was the private property of Empress Maria Feodorovna and her heirs. This explains the special, intimate, cozy atmosphere of the magnificent Pavlovsk Palace.

The Pavlovsk Palace captivates absolutely everyone with its harmony and grace. Located surrounded by a magnificent park in the valley of the picturesque Slavyanka River, it embodies all the originality of Russian and European artistic culture of the 18th century. During the excursion you will touch the history of the birth of St. Petersburg - the history of great battles and victories, incredible plans. The city, built by the will of the reforming king, amazes even experienced tourists. And the identity of the king himself still causes heated debate. But, undoubtedly, only one thing is that Emperor Peter I is still invisibly present in the city. This is exactly what we will experience during the excursion.

Excursion to the Kunstkamera.

The Kunstkamera is the first public museum in Russia, the creation of a unique collection of which was initiated by Emperor Peter I himself. The inquisitive tsar was always attracted by mysterious “curiosities”. They became the first exhibits of the Kunstkamera. And now the Kunstkamera is the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography named after. Peter the Great, which presents objects that reveal the characteristics of different peoples of the world.

The excursion will allow you to travel back to the distant 18th century and feel like contemporaries of the Peter the Great era. You will find out what reforms Peter I carried out, what entertainment he preferred, what he dreamed about, and what of his ideas came to life.

Excursion to the Summer Palace of Peter I.

The Summer Palace was built in the Petrine Baroque style according to the design of Domenico Trezzini and is one of the oldest buildings in the city. The residence was intended only for use in the warm season. The two-story palace consists of fourteen rooms and two kitchens. Today the palace is a branch of the State Russian Museum and allows you to visualize the modest life of the great reformer Tsar, and the furniture and numerous household items reveal the character of their owner.

Walk through the Summer Garden.

The Summer Garden is the pearl of the landscape architecture of St. Petersburg. An independent walk through the oldest park in the city will be a magical end to the tour!

At the end of the excursion day, you independently get to the Moscow station or hotel and pick up your luggage from the storage room.
