Itinerary

Day 1 - Berezovo village – Lekhmalakhti Bay – tent camp
11:00-13:00 Gathering of the group in the village of Berezovo, Priozersky district, Leningrad region.
Preparing to enter the route:
getting equipment, assembling and preparing kayaks for the hike;
getting to know the rules of behavior on the water;
introductory briefing on kayak management and safety.
Please note! 13:00 is the time when the group is already sailing, not the time at which it is necessary to arrive at the starting point.
The gathering of the group is strictly from 11:00 to 11:30! Please don't be late.
13:00-00:00 Crossing of Lehmalakhti Bay to the southwestern shore of Kilpola Island and open Lake Ladoga.
The program includes kayaking in Lehmalakhti Bay and a distance of up to 12 km (approximately 4-5 hours on the water, including stops).
Upon arrival at the campsite: setting up tents, a lecture on the history of the region and cooking dinner.
From 19:00 onwards — free time: you can swim, sit by the campfire or walk along the coast, admiring the views of Lake Ladoga.

Day 2 - Strela, Medvezhy, Yagodny and Beloyarsk Islands. Departure
10:00-16:00 Wake up.
Breakfast.
Gathering the camp and returning to the start / finish point via the Strela, Medvezhy, Yagodny and Beloyarsky islands of the Lehmalakhti Bay and, most importantly, climbing Rullalahdenvuori Mountain ("57th height"), which offers stunning views of the Ladoga skerries.
16:00-17:00 Upon arrival at the finish line — unloading, cleaning and, if necessary, disassembly of kayaks / kayaks.
The end time of the tour is calculated for an electric train to St. Petersburg, departing from the Kuznechnoye station.

No special training is required. However, the better the participant is in, the more comfortable it will be. A kayaking and kayaking tour of the Ladoga Skerries involves prolonged physical activity (rowing), cooking over a campfire and spending the night in a tent in the field.

It's important to know

gloves (neoprene, cycling, yachting or just construction);
warm sweater/sweatshirt made of fleece or wool;
the jacket is waterproof and windproof (water resistance from 5000 mm to 10,000 mm);
shoes for staying in a kayak (coral, polyurethane or neoprene slippers, rubber boots as an option);
foam (travel mat) for sleeping;
sleeping bag (comfort temperature not less than +10°C for June, July and August; not less than 0°C for May and September). We can provide a sleeping bag for rent for an additional fee.;
KLMN (mug, spoon, bowl, knife);
individual medications (minimum - a set of patches).

It is reasonable to divide clothes into two types: "wet", in which you are in a kayak, and "dry", in which you, if necessary, change clothes on shore.

Please note! Kayaking takes place from the water, as well as disembarkation. It is better to wear shoes on your feet that you don't mind getting wet: coral, polyurethane or neoprene slippers, crocs or sandals.

You need to choose clothes and shoes for kayaking and kayaking depending on the weather conditions and the time of the year. Regardless of the season, make a choice in favor of sportswear and shoes that will be comfortable for rowing. Kayaking is similar in terms of physical activity intensity to cycling at a high pace or a leisurely jog: it's not cold while you're moving.

It would be wise to bring a set of replacement clothes with you if the main one gets wet (from precipitation, splashes or sweat), including shoes. This is not a prerequisite, but if, for example, you arrive by car, then you can grab a "shift". Keep in mind that there are no special places for changing clothes at the launch sites.

There are a lot of ways to get to the starting point of our trips on Ladoga skerries. The most convenient and reasonable options are listed below.:
1. By car.
From St. Petersburg, you need to take the Novopriozerskoe highway and move towards the city of Priozersk (130 km), then continue along the road to the city of Sortavala to the village of Berezovo (22 km). There is a new highway leading from St. Petersburg to the village of Berezovo, and only the last 1 km through the village is a dirt road.

At the boat station, from where we start the hike, there is a guarded parking lot that costs 200 rubles per day. The station administrator must pay for it in cash at the meeting.

We recommend using navigation software with up-to-date map updates to get there quickly and on the correct route.

2. By train.

Trains depart from Finlyandsky Railway Station to Kuznechnoye Station. The journey time is about 3 hours and 20 minutes. There are always taxi cars near the station that will take tourists to the starting point for 400-600 rubles per car in one direction.

An alternative option is to take the train from Finlyandsky railway Station to Priozersk station. Trains run here more often than to Kuznechnoye, but a taxi from Priozersk to Berezovo will be more expensive — 600-1000 rubles per car in one direction.

If you arrived in Saint Petersburg by plane, then you can get from Pulkovo Airport to Finlyandsky railway Station:

By taxi. We recommend using official taxi services. In this case, the cost of a trip from Pulkovo to Finlyandsky railway station will not exceed 1,000 rubles.
By metro. To get started, you need to take bus No. 39, No. 39E or minibus No. K39 from Pulkovo Airport to Moskovskaya Metro station. All listed vehicles stop before exiting the arrival hall. Moskovskaya metro station is the final stop. Then take the metro from Moskovskaya station (blue line) to Lenin Square station (red line), where Finlyandsky Railway Station is located. There will be one transfer on the way — at the Technological Institute station.
