Ski attraction of the Caucasus: Elbrus, Mamison, Tsey and Veduchi resorts

The total length of the ski slopes is about 12 km, while most of them are red and blue, ideal for an average level of skiing.

The trails on Elbrus are wide and gentle, without a sharp drop in altitude, which will also be comfortable for beginners.

There is a small training slope with a belt lift in the lower part of the resort.

The instructors will help you pick up the equipment, get ski passes and start rolling out the tracks depending on the level of training.

Cable cars smoothly lift us from the village of Azau (2,350 m) to the stations Krugozor (3,000 m), Mir (3,500 m) and Garabashi (3,847 m).

We enjoy skiing, stunning views and active recreation on the ski slopes of the highest mountain in Europe.

We have lunch in a cafe on the slope (extra charge), exchange impressions and at the same time immerse ourselves in the local gastronomy.

They bake the most delicious khichins with cheese, meat and potatoes on Elbrus, and you should definitely try lagman, shorpa and chanakhi from local dishes.

Mamison is now the youngest ski resort in Russia, officially opened in March 2025.

8 trails with a total length of 14 kilometers have already been built.

The resort itself begins at 2025 m above sea level from Kalak station, and the highest developed point today using lifts is located at an altitude of 2950 m, Zaramag 1 and 2 stations.

It is expected that over time, the upper station will be located at an altitude of more than 4,000 m.

We will turn from Transkam to the Tseysky Gorge or Tseyskaya horseshoe.

The gorge has been sacred to Ossetians for many centuries — the most iconic places of worship and places of power are located here — ancient Albanian historical and religious buildings.

The Tsey Gorge is a state nature reserve, and the figure of the patron saint Afsati at the entrance symbolizes protection for everyone living in this beautiful corner of the Caucasus.

09:00 After an early breakfast, transfer (185 km, 4 hours) to the Chechen Republic, Veduchi ski resort.

We will go to the resort along the picturesque Argun gorge, it will be a busy route and breathtaking locations.

A road cut out of limestone cliffs leads up the gorge of the turbulent river Chanta-Argun.

On the way, we will turn off to the Nihaloyevsky waterfalls.

Overhanging cliffs on one side and a fast mountain river on the other will allow you to enjoy the magical scenery, breathe in the purest mountain air and take impressive photos.

Next, there will be a meeting with the Ushkaloy Twin Towers located under a steep slope - one of the symbols of Chechnya.

Using their example, we will reveal the history of watchtowers and signal towers, what function they have performed over the centuries.

In the village of Itum-Kali, we will visit the museum of local lore on the territory of the Phakoch castle complex.

Let's get acquainted with the history and way of life of Chechens since the Middle Ages.

14:00 We arrive at the Veduchi ski resort.

We check into hotels and are instructed on the rules of safety and behavior at the resort.

Veduchi is considered an entry-level ski resort, but of very good quality.

The resort continues to develop and in 2025 it is planned to open new trails, a gondola cable car and a snow park.

The length of the only highway today is no more than 1,000 meters from a height of 1,560 m.

The route is marked as "blue", i.e. a moderate route.

There is also a gentle training slope and an extreme tubing slide.

A special children's park is equipped for the training of small skiers.

We enjoy the picturesque views and open spaces complemented by Caucasian hospitality at the Veduchi resort in Chechnya.

Today we will devote ourselves entirely to skiing, enjoying skiing and stunning views in the mountains of the Chechen Republic.
