Day 1 - Arrival. Vladikavkaz City Tour
Transfer from the airport and/or railway station must be ordered separately when booking the tour.
Check-in at the hotels before 14:00.
After check-in, together with our coordinator, you will go to the Medici restaurant in the city center, where lunch will be held at 15:00 (the restaurant can be replaced with an equivalent one in case of unforeseen circumstances).
Immediately after lunch, a bus and walking tour of Vladikavkaz is planned, with a visit to the sights of the historical part of the city.
Iconic places and the centuries-old history of one of the most beautiful cities, which is often called Caucasian Petersburg.
A walk through the center of Vladikavkaz will allow you to discover the echoes of the past centuries, embodied in ancient buildings, merchant houses, former printing houses and concerns, hear about the architectural features and about famous people who were born and lived here, get acquainted with the local mentality and learn urban legends.
The program includes: Ossetian Church, Alley of Glory, Narton Park, Lenin Square, K.L. Khetagurov Park, Armenian Apostolic Church, Sunni Mosque (Mukhtarov Mosque).

Day 2 - Ingushetia
At 09:00 after breakfast, you will depart with our guide to the Republic of Ingushetia, Dzheyrakh district.
Our tour will start from the Darial Gorge, we will drive along the famous Georgian Military Road.
The Daryal Gorge is a grandiose natural fault in the Lateral Ridge of the Greater Caucasus mountain system, along the bottom of which the river The Terek River.
The first historically recorded name of the fortification "Daryal" (Dar-i-Alan) is translated from Persian as "Alan Gate".
Beyond them lay the possessions of the Iranian-speaking nomadic tribes of Scytho—Sarmatian origin, the Alans.
Next, we will move to the Dzheyrakh gorge, the historical center and the oldest part of the Republic of Ingushetia, where the main historical monuments have been preserved.
There are numerous climbing routes and trails for tourists along the gorge.
You will see the subsistence farming of local residents, who, like a hundred years ago, harvest hay for the winter, cook cheese and honor centuries-old traditions.
We will visit the main monuments of the Dzheyrakh gorge.
You will see the ancient family tower of the Tsurovs, who still live next to it, as well as the ancient city of Targim, the village of Egikal and the Vnushki tower complex on steep cliffs.
The guide will tell you why such towers were built and what they symbolized.
You will also visit the temple of Thaba-yerdy, built in the 8th century.

Day 3 - Kabardino-Balkaria
At 08:30 (early breakfast) after breakfast, you will embark on an interesting excursion program to the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.
Upper Balkaria is a picturesque area with mountains, meadows and lakes, combining the true beauty of pristine nature, the grandeur of mountain peaks and the originality of ancient sights.
The Cherek Gorge is located in the Cherek-Balkarian gorge, where you can see everything: rocks and cliffs, lakes and waterfalls, necropolises and abandoned villages, as well as watchtowers shrouded in legends.
You will also admire the Blue lakes surrounded by mountains and alpine meadows in Babugent village.
You will see Lake Cerik-kel, or Blue Lake, famous for the extraordinary color of the water.
Visit the Lower Blue Lake (Tserik-kel), which is a natural monument.
The Blue Lakes Complex is a unique natural phenomenon that is located in an incredibly picturesque location.
After taking memorable photos and admiring the scenery, we will go further to the Cherek gorge, where we can take an exciting walking tour and listen to the guide's stories about the history of this place.
Our path will follow the serpentine, up to the tunnel in the Cherek gorge.
Admire the Cherek Canyon.
Take a walking route along the dirt road (approximately 300 meters).
This is one of the most exciting stages of the tour — it's a walk along the old wheeled road, which is carved right into the sheer cliff.
After the tunnel, the road to the former fortress of Zylgi-Kala begins.
A unique fortress leaning against a sheer cliff like some kind of bird's nest.
It is from here that a huge ancient defensive system begins, which was built back in the Middle Ages, the Balkarov Tower, Amir Khan, Kurnayat.
Take a walk around the surroundings of Upper Balkaria — Kunnyum village, long abandoned and inhabited only by mountain winds, is located in the gorge of the Cherek River, Kunnyum-El, the tower of Princes Abayev, a building dating back to the late Middle Ages.
Shkany Aul and the Amirkhanov Tower (Amirkhan-Kala), and other amazing monuments of the past.
We will plunge into the times of wars and battles, brave men and traitors, we will hear many stories and legends about the owners of these places.

Day 4 - Three gorges of Ossetia
At 09:00 after breakfast, you will embark with our guide on an exciting tour of the Kurtatinsky gorge.
The gorge is located in the very center of mountainous Ossetia.
To this day, ancient Ossetian villages with family, military, residential and signal towers, cave fortifications and ancient religious buildings have been preserved here.
We will visit Kadargavan Canyon, a unique place where you can see how for hundreds of years a mountain river eroded the soft limestones of a rocky ridge, and a huge boulder that fell from the top of the mountain became a natural bridge across the canyon.
The medieval rock fortress of Dzivgis — the fortress has been known since the invasion of Tamerlane in the XV century — and this amazing tactical contraption, created by the highlanders to protect against enemy raids, will learn about the secret passages that permeated the entire medieval fortress.
We will visit the Alan Holy Dormition Monastery, which is the highest Orthodox monastery in Russia, located at an altitude of 1300 meters.
13:30 National lunch at the Valley of the Sun restaurant.
Then transfer to the Dargava basin.
The Dargava necropolis is popularly compared to the Egyptian Valley of the Pharaohs.
On the way, we will see the famous Ossetian letter "A" art object, the Kurta and Tag towers, other family towers, ancient terraces reclaimed from the mountains for planting agricultural crops.
Then transfer to the Genaldon gorge, which is one of the narrowest and most beautiful gorges in Ossetia.
The gorge's infamy is connected with the collapse of the Kolka Glacier in 2002 and the mystery of the disappearance of the film crew of Sergei Bodrov Jr. (visiting the memorial complex of the deceased film crew).

Day 5 - The Chechen Republic

Next, you will go to Grozny, where a sightseeing walking tour will take place.
The tour includes a visit to the Church of Archangel Michael, an observation deck on the high-rise building of the Grozny City complex, a visit to the most beautiful flower park, the Heart of Chechnya mosque.
After visiting the Mosque, we will take a walking tour along the boulevard. Esambayeva.

Day 6 - Kazenoy Am Lake and Hoi Museum City

This day is filled with incredible views of the amazing nature of the Caucasus.
We will visit a true natural work of art and a real pearl of Chechnya and the Greater Caucasus — Lake Kazenoy-Am.
The largest lake in the North Caucasus, located on the border of the Cheberloevsky district of the Chechen Republic and the Botlikhsky district of Dagestan.
The reservoir was formed as a result of damming the valley of two small rivers — Kharsum and Kaukha.
The collapse that dammed the valley occurred from the southern slope of the Kashkerlam range, below the confluence of these rivers.

Day 7 - Argun gorge and Nihaloyev waterfalls

Day 8 - Transfer to Makhachkala. Sightseeing tour program

Day 9 - Derbent Tour
At 08:00 after breakfast, you will depart with our guide to Derbent.
Excursion to the southernmost city of Russia Derbent with lunch at the ethnodome.
Our first stop at the "Caspian Monster" is the Harrier.
The ekranoplane, dubbed the Caspian Monster in the West, was produced at the Volga plant and was the only fully built ship of the 903 project out of eight planned.
Next, a tour of the Naryn-Kala fortress, which is part of a huge fortification system, which, in addition to the citadel, included city walls, naval fortifications and a 40-kilometer Mountain wall (Dagbar), directed towards the Caucasian Ridge.
The defensive structures were erected in the most vulnerable place — a narrow three-kilometer stretch of plain between the mountains and the sea, from where any attack by nomadic tribes from the north began; let's see the surroundings of one of the oldest mosques in Russia, the Juma Mosque (8th century).
This is the oldest mosque not only in the territory of modern Russia, but also in the entire CIS.

Day 10 - Excursion to Sulak Canyon, boating, Zipline attraction and Suspension Bridge, Sary Kum Dune
At 07:00 after breakfast, departure to Kazbekov district, where one of the deepest canyons in the world and the deepest in Europe, the Sulak Canyon, is located.
On the way to the canyon, there is a place that is impossible to pass by — the Chirkey reservoir, formed on the Sulak River as a result of the construction of the Chirkey hydroelectric power plant, the most powerful hydroelectric power plant in the North Caucasus.
Chirkeyskaya HPP has the second tallest dam in Russia and the tallest arch dam in the country.
Water boating will take place here.
Then we continue our journey by arriving at the main observation deck of the Sulak Canyon, which is located at an altitude of over 900 meters.
You will enjoy a stunning panoramic view and a photo shoot against the backdrop of picturesque nature.
After the whole group enjoys the stunning views, we will go together to a new tourist destination.
The Nokyo complex, which unites three caves, was opened for tourists in the Kazbekovsky district of Dagestan.
One is located on the left bank of the Sulak River and two on the right.
The total length of the labyrinths is several hundred meters.
The caves are connected by a suspension bridge, which is equipped 60 meters above the water.
Here, daredevils can test themselves on the Zipline attraction, which is located across the canyon.

Day 11 - Gimrinskaya Tower, Irganai reservoir, Tobot waterfall, Matlas, Mochokhskoye Lake
At 07:00 after breakfast, you will drive to Khunzakh, a village in Dagestan, located in the heart of mountainous Dagestan on the picturesque Khunzakh plateau, 2,000 meters above sea level and 140 kilometers from Makhachkala.
Our first stop will be the Gimrinskaya Tower, a silent witness to the death of the first Imam of Dagestan, Gazi-Muhammad.
He built it with his murids, among whom was Shamil, after an unsuccessful campaign against Hunzakh in 1830 to defend his native village.
Further, the Irganai reservoir is the second largest reservoir in Dagestan, formed on the Avarskoye Koisu River as a result of the construction of the Irganai hydroelectric power station.
Construction of the dam began in 1977 and was completed only in 2008.
We will organize a second breakfast with a tea party on the shore of the reservoir.
Having refreshed ourselves, we will continue our journey to the largest waterfall in the Khunzakh district.
Tobot Waterfall is the largest waterfall in this part of the mountains in terms of its height and volume of water.

According to legend, in one of them, hidden from view by nature, the daughters of the Khunzakh khans loved to swim in the hot summer.
To do this, a path was cut through the rocks, which people still use today.

Mochokh Lake is a mountain lake in the Republic of Dagestan, near the village of Mochokh.

It's important to know

You need comfortable shoes to walk around the city. For trips to the mountains, you can wear sneakers or other comfortable shoes. In the off-season it is cool in the mountains, the wind blows, so a jacket and a hat are mandatory. In summer, you can do with a light blouse, cap and glasses. For thermal springs — bathing accessories.

In this tour, all hotels are urban, so you can dress up at your discretion for evening walks around the city.

My husband and I took this trip and were absolutely delighted. The itinerary may look quite full, but it was carried out in a very comfortable and relaxed way. Majestic landscapes, delicious food, and wonderful company! What more could you ask for in a getaway?! Our guide, Damar, brought such positive energy to the experience. Everything was very well organized. The transport for the excursions always arrived on time. The hotel was also great (we stayed in a "Planet Suite"), and it was cleaned every day.
