Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Excursion "Journey to the shrines of the Novgorod land"

    Arrival in Novgorod (we meet the train from Moscow at 06:24 train No. 42 and St. Petersburg at 10:26 train No. 7001 and additional train No. 7931).

    Meeting with the guide at the railway station at the main entrance from the platform.

    Guaranteed hotel accommodation at 14:00. Morning check-in if possible. You can leave your belongings free of charge in the luggage room of the hotel.

    Breakfast at the hotel.

    Excursion "Journey to the shrines of the Novgorod land" (by transport) – 3 hours.

    Nikolo-Vyazhishchsky Convent is a unique architectural ensemble (XVII-XVIII centuries), the main monastery cathedral of St. Nicholas, St. Euphemia, where there is a shrine with the relics of St. Euphemia, Archbishop of Novgorod the Wonderworker.

    The Spaso-Preobrazhensky Varlaamo-Khutynsky Convent is an architectural ensemble of the XVI-XIX centuries. It attracts many tourists and pilgrims. The life of the monastery is closely connected with the name of its founder, Varlaam Khutynsky.

    The Transfiguration Cathedral houses the relics of St. Barlaam, and the ashes of the great Russian poet and statesman Gavriil Romanovich Derzhavin rest here. There is also a holy hill, a chapel and a well with holy water on the territory of the monastery.
