Veliky Novgorod will be remembered for its ancient architecture and fascinating views. You will explore the well–kept territory of the Kremlin and visit St. Sophia Cathedral, the oldest surviving church in Russia. Take a walk around Yaroslav's Courtyard, appreciate the unusual Hanseatic Fountain and immerse yourself in the shopping traditions of the city.

And after that you will get to know Pskov: visit the Pskov-Pechersk Monastery, walk through the ancient Izborsk fortress, inspect the towers of the Pskov Kremlin and admire Gorodishchensky Lake. But it is impossible to visit the Pskov land and feel it to the end without visiting the unique historical, literary and natural landscape museum-reserve named after A.S. Pushkin, where you will spend the whole day.

Day 1 - Arrival in Veliky Novgorod. City sightseeing tour
7:06-10:42 arrival in Veliky Novgorod. Meeting with the guide at the main entrance to the railway station from the platform. Check the meeting details the day before.
Transfer to the hotel.
Check-out time in hotels is 14:00.
Early check-in for an additional fee. Book in advance.
Breakfast in the hotel restaurant. For tourists arriving after 10:00, breakfast is replaced with lunch.

5-hour car and walking tour.
The Rurikovo settlement is a picturesque peninsula at the source of the Volkhov River, where the residence of Prince Rurik, the founder of the first Russian ruling dynasty, was located, where every inch of the earth conceals finds and secrets.

The settlement was the center of the most important events in the political history of Novgorod.

Day 3 - Museum-Reserve named after A.S. Pushkin
Breakfast in the hotel cafe.
Departure to the Pushkin Mountains (group tour).
Excursion to Mikhailovskoye and Trigorskoye.
The Pushkin Mountains are located 120 km south-east of Pskov in the very center of the Pskov region.
Throughout his life, Alexander Pushkin carried a passionate love for this beautiful corner of the Russian land.
The main attraction of the Pushkin Nature Reserve is Mikhailovskoye, the former ancestral estate of the Hannibals–Pushkins.
The Pushkin Reserve includes Trigorskoye, the former estate of Pushkin's closest neighbors and friends, the Osipovs–Wolfs.
Lunch.
Excursion to the Svyatogorsk Monastery, the Pushkin-Hannibal family cemetery and the grave of Alexander Pushkin.
Return to Pskov after 19:00.

An amazing natural and historical monument that has forever merged with nature and deservedly become one of the most original and romantic sights of this land.
Izborsk is one of the oldest Russian cities.
Here on the Zheravy Mountain, above the wide Gorodishchensky lake, stands a fortress of the 14th – 15th centuries, built by the Pskov people to protect their western borders.

Excursion to the men's active Holy Dormition Pskov-Pechersk Monastery, located 340 km southwest of St. Petersburg and 50 km west of Pskov, the Holy Dormition Pskov-Pechersk Monastery traces its history back more than 525 years.
Here, on the northwestern borders of Russia, on the ancient Pskov land, the seeds of the Orthodox faith were planted, sown in Russia back in the 10th century by the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga.

The trip was extremely informative and full of memorable experiences. I visited three different cities and took part in several excellent excursions. I was especially impressed by Veliky Novgorod: Yaroslav’s Court, the Rurikovo Gorodische, the Khutyn Monastery, and of course the Kremlin with St. Sophia Cathedral, the Chamber of Facets, and the Center of Musical Antiquities. Everything was very well organized. I also had the chance to attend a performance by the local drama theater at the Philharmonic Hall, and the actors were absolutely captivating!!! We were also taken by car to the Iversky Monastery, located near the town of Valday. However, I do regret that the itinerary did not include the Valdaysky District Museum. It’s a small museum right in the center of Valday and would have been a great addition to the trip. Since we traveled such a long distance, it would have been nice to see more of the town itself, the program only included the Museum Bell Center. Another highlight was the unforgettable excursion to Staraya Russa. Elena accompanied us by car and shared a wealth of fascinating information along the way. The Dostoevsky Museum left a particularly strong impression on me, thanks in large part to the excellent guide there. Thank you very much for the excellent organization of the tour!
