08:00 Start of the route in Perm at the address: 30 Yekaterininskaya St.
On the morning of the first day we will go to Solikamsk (216 km, ~3 hours) from where our rafting will begin!
Our rafting trip will take place along the main river of the Perm Region and Perm — Kama. Kama, translated from the Komi language, means “big water" — it justifies its name 100%, especially for residents of the region.
It reflects the flavor of the Russian open spaces, along with countless forests, picturesque fields and the comfort of the Russian hinterlands.
We will start our rafting trip from the Salt Museum in Solikamsk.
The Salt Museum is dedicated to the history of salt production in the Urals. Solikamsk is known as one of the oldest salt mining centers in Russia. The museum is located in the building of the former salt barn of the 19th century.
The exhibition tells about the technology of salt production, the life of salt workers and the importance of salt in the history of the region. Visitors can see antique equipment, interactive exhibits, and even try themselves as salt workers.
We'll take a walk around the museum, get a briefing and, hooray, transfer to kayaks.
Kayaking will take us to the village of Lysva (not to be confused with the city of Lysva, where Evgeny Pavlovich Krylatov is from, who wrote “Winged Swing”), which is located on the riverbank among dense forests.
In the evening, we will have a hot dinner and gatherings around the campfire.
Mileage of the first day of rafting: 21 km.
