Perm is Great. New Year's auto tour in the north of the region

The morning starts with a tour of the city of Kunguru. 

In the 19th century, Kungur was called the "tea capital of the Urals" — after all, 80% of the Russian tea trade passed through the city, which stands on the Siberian highway — the Great Tea Road.

After the tour, we will go to the Ermak stone, which is part of the ancient Permian reef. We will find out why it has such a name, admire the valley of the Sylva River from the observation deck and arrange a lunch snack on the shore.

In the afternoon we will go to the village of Usva, our way will lie to the north of the Perm region.

Usva is a very small but very picturesque village located on the river of the same name. The surroundings of the village are so beautiful that tourists and cinematographers have chosen it. 

It is from Usva that the path begins to the most recognizable sights of the Perm Region - the Usva pillars and the Stone City.

Let's move into a cozy house and start preparing for the New Year.

New Year – new beauties! 

The day will be slow, we will sleep well, have breakfast and go to the Stone City.

Kamenny Gorod is a unique natural object of the Perm Region. 

Here we will walk through the streets of a real stone maze and admire the bizarre stone architecture.

By the end of the day, we will return to the village and spend a quiet evening with a delicious dinner and interesting games.

Today is an active day. 

After breakfast, we will walk through the fabulous snow-covered forest to the Usvinsky pillars (5 km one way). 

Along the bank of the Usva River, we will reach the foot of the pillars, a rock wall more than 100 meters high. 

We will go up to the observation deck, where the films "Geographer Globe drank" and "Time of the First" were shot, we will take memorable photos with a smooth bend of the Usva River and a panorama of the Ural taiga.

While admiring these beautiful views, we will arrange a lunch snack with warming tea.

Let's go back to the bus and move to the town of Gubakha, where the scenery for the film “The Heart of Parma” is located: a fortress wall with towers, a barn, a stable, and, of course, that very rural chapel. 

During the walk, we will look at every corner and plunge into the mysterious world of cinema.

We will move to the city of Solikamsk, check into a hotel, have dinner.

Today is a day of excursions and leisurely walks around the ancient city of Solikamsk. 

This small Ural city is known for dozens of churches, monasteries and temples recognized as architectural monuments. 

We will go to the most iconic of them – the central architectural ensemble of the city of Solikamsk and the Governor's House. 

We will have the opportunity to walk through secret passages in the meter-high walls of the Governor's House and look at the city from a bird's-eye view from the observation deck of the Cathedral Bell Tower.

After the tour, we will stop for lunch at a cafe and immediately go to the Solzavod Museum-Reserve – the world's only open–air museum of wooden industrial architecture of the XIX century, demonstrating the technological chain of salt production in Russia of the XVII-XX centuries. 

Only here you can see the mechanisms with which our great-grandfathers worked, touch the century-old walls of the towers, silvery with salt, plunge into the atmosphere of that time.

At the end of the tour, we will go further to the north of the region – to the city of Krasnovishersk.

Today we will get up early, we will have a very busy and active day.

We are going to the shores of the beautiful Vishera. 

Our goal is Mount Polyud. 

We will do part of the way on snowmobiles, and then, after a short hike (1.5 km in one direction), we will find ourselves at the top of the mountain. 

The panorama that opens from the 527-meter peak of Poluda will be fantastic. 

Here you feel like the lord of the great Parma, spread out under your feet, and it seems you can reach the sky with your hand.

After enjoying such views, we will return to the river and move to the beginning of the fabulous trail to the Vetlan stone. 

The Vetlan stone is the highest rock wall in the region, it stretches for 2 kilometers along the shore of the beautiful Vishera, and from its top there is a beautiful view of the river and Mount Polyud. 

We are waiting for a walking tour (3 km one way). 

At the top we will arrange a lunch snack with a gorgeous panorama of the surroundings.

After the walk, the Vishersky Nature Reserve Museum will tell us about the natural values and features of the territory, as well as the history of the Vishersky Mansi (aborigines of the Urals).

We move to the city of Cherdyn, check into the base, have dinner and share our impressions of the past day, for those who wish – a sauna.

Cherdyn was the capital of the Grand Duchy of Great Perm many centuries ago. 

Over the past centuries, the city and its surroundings have hardly changed. 

We will go to the central architectural ensemble of Cherdyn and visit the Vera Museum. 

Here we will literally touch the history and see with our own eyes how the Permian land lived in the 15th and 16th centuries.

After such an eventful excursion, we will stop for lunch and move on.

We are waiting for some of the most ancient villages of the Perm land with temples built in the 18th century: the village of Pokcha with the Annunciation Church, the village of Vilgort with the Trinity Church and the village of Nyrob with the St. Nicholas Church.

The village of Nyrob is a famous historical place, became the place of exile and death of the uncle of the first Russian tsar from the Romanov dynasty, boyar Mikhail Nikitich, and during today's tour we will talk not only about ancient Perm architecture, but also about the history of the Romanovs.

We will return to the already familiar base, arrange a final dinner and share our impressions of our trip.

Before leaving, we will visit the Cherdyn Museum, where the exposition of the Perm wooden Gods is located. We will buy souvenirs and return to Perm.
