The day before departure by train from St. Petersburg or Moscow.
Meeting with a guide at the monument to V.I. Lenin at the railway station in Velikiye Luki.

Departure to the city of Sebezh.
Sightseeing tour of Sebezh.
The town of Sebezh is located between the lakes Sebezh and Orono, on the border with Latvia and Belarus. This is one of the most romantic and amazing places in the Pskov region. The atmosphere of a provincial pre-revolutionary city has been preserved here, and even such upheavals as the revolution and the Great Patriotic War hardly touched its appearance..

Guided tour of the Green Quarter of Sebezhsky National Park.
The real pride of Sebezh is the national park, which stretches over 50 hectares, it is one of the most beautiful natural corners of the Northwest.
Here you can see dozens of lakes, mixed forests, more than 200 species of birds and rare plants listed in the Red Book.
You will admire the picturesque landscapes that inspired the poet Ivan Bunin, and enjoy the silence of the northern nature (extra charge).
Visit to the first private cheese factory with tasting.
You will taste cheeses prepared according to Italian, French and Russian recipes and learn about their maturation process (additional charge).
Departure to Velikiye Luki.

Day 2 - Orekhovo and Velikiye Luki

Transfer to the Orekhovo Estate.
An incredible discovery awaits you in the village of Orekhovo.
Today, a magnificent garden with an Anglo-Norman castle stands on the site of a former wasteland and swamp.
The garden will impress you with its elegance: exquisite alleys, a Victorian rose garden and well-kept compositions reminiscent of Italian Renaissance gardens.
The estate's special pride is the 19th—century greenhouse, imported from France.
A walk through Orekhovo will give you a real aesthetic pleasure and a feeling of touching European culture (entrance fees are paid additionally).
Transfer to Velikiye Luki.
Lunch (extra charge).
Sightseeing tour of Velikiye Luki.
The ancient Russian city of Velikiye Luki is known for its heroic history.
Founded in the 12th century, it served as a powerful fortress protecting the western borders of Russia.
You will see the Velikiye Luki Fortress, whose history dates back eight centuries, learn about its role in the Livonian War and the famous siege by the troops of Stefan Batory.
The names of Sofia Kovalevskaya and Fyodor Sologub are associated with Velikiye Luki, and the city still preserves the atmosphere of ancient history and patriotism.
Transfer to Velikiye Luki railway station.
Departure to St. Petersburg by train No. 677H at 20:13, arrival in St. Petersburg at 6:12.
Departure to Moscow by train No. 664A at 21:30 or 064 at 19:25.

I'm so glad I chose the 'Across the Expanses of Perm the Great' tour in July 2024. It was a high-quality, engaging, and thoughtfully designed journey through the entire Perm region. The trip was full of fascinating discoveries: ancient monasteries, unique museums, the distinctive Permian animal style and wooden deities, the history of salt production and the Stroganovs in the Urals, and much more. The natural beauty of Parma was breathtaking: dense forests, countless rivers, mountains, and even an ice cave. The hotels were comfortable, and the breakfasts and lunches were tasty, often featuring elements of local cuisine. Traveling in a small group made the experience even more enjoyable, after all, it's usually seasoned travelers who venture to the Perm region. One special moment was when we all got to bake and taste traditional gingerbread made from an old recipe, for many of us, it was a first.
