Moving along the M-11 expressway.
Transfer to Korostyn.
Sightseeing.
The shore of the lake is formed by Ilmen clay, a layer of the prehistoric Devonian period.
It was here that Ivan III met the Novgorodians who had arrived on the surrender ships and concluded the fateful Korostyn Treaty with them, which determined the creation of a single centralized state in Russia.
At the end of 1720, the Assumption Church was built here according to the design of Gaetano Chiaveri, a talented craftsman who played a crucial role in the construction and preservation of the Kunstkamera building in St. Petersburg.
There is a Traveling palace in Korostyn, which was built according to the project of V. P. Stasov.
The palace served as a resting place for representatives of the imperial family traveling from St. Petersburg and Novgorod to Staraya Russa.

The museum is dedicated to F. M. Dostoevsky's last novel "The Brothers Karamazov", which was created in Staraya Russa.
The museum tells not only about the plot of the work, but also about the main stages of the writer's biography, his environment and social life of the 19th century.
The exhibition consists of six halls: "In the city of the Brothers Karamazov", "Living room of Katerina Ivanovna Verkhovtseva", "Living room of Fyodor Pavlovich Karamazov", "Cell", "Tavern", "Children's room".

Departure from Staraya Russa to St. Petersburg via Veliky Novgorod on the M11 expressway.
The estimated time of arrival in St. Petersburg is 21:00.
You can leave for Moscow from Veliky Novgorod by train 042H at 21:35 (transfer to the railway station of Veliky Novgorod is provided) or to Moscow from St. Petersburg, Moskovsky railway station by train departing after 22:00.

I'm so glad I chose the 'Across the Expanses of Perm the Great' tour in July 2024. It was a high-quality, engaging, and thoughtfully designed journey through the entire Perm region. The trip was full of fascinating discoveries: ancient monasteries, unique museums, the distinctive Permian animal style and wooden deities, the history of salt production and the Stroganovs in the Urals, and much more. The natural beauty of Parma was breathtaking: dense forests, countless rivers, mountains, and even an ice cave. The hotels were comfortable, and the breakfasts and lunches were tasty, often featuring elements of local cuisine. Traveling in a small group made the experience even more enjoyable, after all, it's usually seasoned travelers who venture to the Perm region. One special moment was when we all got to bake and taste traditional gingerbread made from an old recipe, for many of us, it was a first.
