Hiking in Sakhalin. Tonino-Aniva ring

Sakhalin is Russia's largest island. The route runs around the Tonino-Aniva Peninsula, along the coast of Aniva Bay and the Sea of Okhotsk. The main wealth of the island is nature: lakes, seas, waterfalls, forests and rocky shores.

Hiking on Sakhalin is reminiscent of the program "In the World of Animals": largemouth seals greet from the water, sometimes swim up to the shore and bask on the rocks; cunning foxes try to steal something from food, raccoons, cormorants and seagulls help them in this, with an eye and an eye. What a Far East without bears — there are their tracks everywhere. We will sing songs loudly, warning them that we are near. And if we're lucky, we'll even see killer whales!

A route for true romantics who love nature, the sea, sunsets and sunrises. There will be many interesting obstacles (rock clamps, fords, kurumnik) and about 90 kilometers traveled. The experience of multi-day autonomous hikes is desirable, but the route is accessible to everyone. You need good physical training and experience walking under a backpack.

The discount for the first 5 places is 5,000 ₽. Check availability when booking.

Tour organizer's comments

The campaign has been assigned 3 difficulty categories out of 5 maximum. There won't be any serious obstacles in the hike that require special skills. But it's good if you have experience walking under a backpack and good physical fitness.

Since the route is autonomous, we carry everything on ourselves from the first day of the hike, and the mileage on some days is quite large.

The main difficulties on the route

  • There are many crossings along the coast under a backpack: on the sand (a lot of stress on the ankle, it's hard to walk on the sand), on the sea carpet (good coordination is needed).
  • There are rock clamps and rope climbing obstacles.
  • The hike is completely autonomous. Overnight stays are almost always at the seaside.
  • Long running days under a backpack.
  • Severe weather conditions are possible.
  • Lots of bears and foxes.
