Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Cruise start from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky

    Independent arrival in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

    Transfer to the port and boarding the ship.

    Getting to know the crew, a welcome mini-buffet and a safety briefing.

    We pass the Avacha Bay — the largest natural harbor in the world — and go out into the Pacific Ocean.

    On the starboard side are the majestic Kamchatka volcanoes Avachinsky, Koryaksky, Kozelsky and Vilyuchinsky.

    At sunset, we take a water tour of the Russian Bay on the Zodiac. Many birds live on its tree-covered shores, and sea lions arrange their rookeries at the entrance to the bay.

Tour organizer's comments

The level of physical fitness for expedition cruises is not important. Anyone who is able to lift and descend the ship's ladder will go through any landing in the wildest places without difficulty. On the contrary, those who want to get some exercise will be offered longer cross-country walks.

But it is worth remembering that you will find yourself in hard-to-reach places, and the nearest hospital may be thousands of kilometers away from you, so if you suffer from chronic diseases, consult with your doctor before traveling.

The tour is conducted on the expedition vessel "Spirit of Enderby".

The Spirit of Enderby, also known as Professor Khromov, is a small ice—class expedition vessel. In 2013 and 2019, it was completely re-equipped with the expectation of comfortable accommodation for a maximum of 50 passengers.

For the convenience of passengers, the ship has a bar, a cozy lounge, a lecture hall and a library with a large collection of thematic literature.

The spacious bridge is always open to passengers. From it you can admire stunning views of icebergs and coastal landscapes. Wildlife and marine animals can also be observed from the open decks of the ship.

The captain and the team of Spirit of Enderby are experienced sailors, real enthusiasts of expedition travel. During the landings, travelers are accompanied by qualified guides and naturalists. A fleet of Zodiac motor inflatable boats is used for landings, which are simple and convenient to use. With their help, the expedition participants easily get to amazingly beautiful, but hard-to-reach places.

It's important to know

Personal equipment you need for the tour

The main factor in choosing clothes on board a ship is convenience. Clothes can be casual and informal. Take windproof and waterproof outerwear with you. Do not take tight clothes with you, which does not leave space for the air layer, which is an excellent insulator. Wool, silk and some modern synthetic fibers, such as polar fleece, retain heat better than cotton.

We recommend making an exception for the captain's dinner and the gala dinner. There is no dress code for dinner, but this is a luxury ship and foreign tourists like to look smart in the evening.

Here are some tips to help you feel comfortable during an expedition cruise:

  • Do not dress too warmly to avoid sweating;
  • wear waterproof clothing made of a material that, nevertheless, will allow Your body will "breathe" and thus prevent moisture from condensing under your clothes;
  • the legs and arms are most susceptible to cooling. Try to keep them dry and warm. A wise decision would be to take gloves to be ready for weather changes.;
  • A person loses 90% of the heat when cooling his head! Make sure your head is warm. Along with a headdress covering the ears and forehead, bring a hat or
  • a hood that could cover the neck and chin if necessary;
  • It's a great idea to take a woolen or synthetic scarf: providing neck protection, it can be tied over your face if you have to move against the wind;
  • wear comfortable, spacious clothes. It is better to wear several light clothes than one warm one. There will be a thin air layer between the layers of clothing, which when
  • an increase in body temperature serves as an excellent insulator;
  • wool and silk are preferable to cotton, because they retain warm air well. Synthetic materials that take their shape again after compression are also good. If things get wet or damp, a polystyrene lining is a better insulator than goose or duck down. We also recommend fleece clothing, which is popular even with extreme travelers.

Check if you have taken everything:

  • a warm jacket a jacket;
  • rubber boots will be given to you for rent on board;
  • warm underwear;
  • warm trousers (jeans are suitable for wearing on board and for excursions);
  • waterproof trousers for boating and land walks (wear them over your regular trousers);
  • a wool sweater or a fleece jacket;
  • gloves;
  • the hat;
  • warm socks;
  • comfortable moisture-resistant boots with ribbed soles;
  • sneakers or boots. It is forbidden to wear flip-flops on board for safety reasons;
  • waterproof backpack for drop-offs;
  • sunglasses with UV protection;
  • protective cream for face and lips;
  • bathing suit;
  • camera and memory cards;
  • an extra pair of your optical glasses;
  • medical supplies prescribed by a doctor with a reserve for several additional days;
  • plastic bag with zipper or camera clip;
  • several T-shirts to wear on board and on landings;
  • binoculars for observing wild animals;
  • battery pack;
  • notepad and pen.
