Day 1 - Yekaterinburg, The Border of Europe and Asia, Boris Yeltsin Museum
Arrival at Yekaterinburg airport (Koltsovo).
Meeting at the airport at 05:30.
The group transfer is carried out only from the airport / railway station on the day of the start of the tour and only in case of arrival on the recommended flights.
Transfer to Yekaterinburg.
Early check-in at the hotel. It is possible to check in a day earlier for an additional fee.
Breakfast at the hotel.
12:00 Sightseeing tour of Yekaterinburg (estimated start time).
We will see old factory buildings, modern business districts, squares and avenues.
Yekaterinburg was founded by decree of Peter the Great as a factory city in 1723 on the Iset River.
The city was named after Catherine I, and later became the industrial and cultural heart of the Urals. Today it is one of the largest megacities in Russia, where history and modernity harmoniously combine.
Visit the Border of Europe and Asia.
The Europe-Asia symbol was installed at the intersection of the European-Asian border.
Two stones are laid at the obelisk, which symbolize the unity of the two parts of the world. Here, every tourist can symbolically stand with one foot in Europe and the other in Asia.
One stone was brought from the most extreme point of Europe – Cape Rock, and the second stone from the very edge of the Asian part of the continent – Cape Dezhnev.

Boris Yeltsin Museum tour.
This is the first presidential museum in Russia.
He tells about the life of the first president of Russia and the most important stages of his political biography. The museum occupies 2 floors and has an unusual building in the form of a circle, which is divided into several rooms.
The museum's exposition contains documents, photographs and archival footage, as well as modern interactive technologies.

Day 2 - Nevyansk. Nizhny Tagil
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to Nevyansk.
Excursion to the Nevyansky State Historical and Architectural Museum.
The Nevyansk State Historical and Architectural Museum, one of the most famous and visited museums in the region, is the keeper of the rich history of the Nevyansk land.
The museum complex includes: the Museum of the history of the Nevyansky Region of the 17th — early 20th centuries, the Inclined Demidov Tower, and an exhibition hall.
The museum is located in the historical center of Nevyansk, next to the inclined tower, in the building of the former factory power plant, a monument of industrial architecture of the early 20th century.
At the moment, restoration work is still underway at the museum of the Inclined Demidov Tower.
Transfer to Nizhny Tagil.
Sightseeing tour of the city.
Nizhny Tagil was the capital of Demidov's industrial empire.
Almost 200 years ago Nizhny Tagil was the main producer of cast iron in all of Europe, and during the Soviet era the city became a major industrial center.
Akinfiy Nikitich Demidov built two factories here: the Vysky copper smelter and the Nizhny Tagil iron-smelting and iron-making.

Excursion to the Historical and Technical Museum "House of Cherepanovs".
The museum is located in a manor house built in the 19th century in the style of late classicism, and is an architectural monument. It was here that the famous Tagil inventors, the creators of the first Russian steam locomotive Yefim and Miron Cherepanov lived.
The main part of the exhibition tells about the fate of the Cherepanov family, as well as about the inventor of the bicycle, Yefim Artamonov from Tagil.
Separate halls are devoted to exhibitions that introduce the development of communications, reproducing and recording technology.
Excursion to the Museum of the history of the tray industry "House of Khudoyarov".
Nizhny Tagil is the birthplace of the Russian painted iron tray.
The art of Ural lacquer painting originated in the first half of the 18th century. The museum is located in a building that belonged to the Khudoyarov dynasty of artists.
Here you will get acquainted with the history of tray fishing from the 18th to the 21st century, the life and work of famous Tagil artists Khudoyarov.
Return to Yekaterinburg.

Day 3 - Ganina Pit and the Temple on the Blood. Bazhov Memorial House Museum
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to Ganina Pit.
Guided tour of the territory and the museum.
Ganina Pit is an abandoned iron mine, which got its name from the owner, nicknamed Ganya. The deposit turned out to be poor and by the beginning of the 20th century the mine was abandoned.
It was here that the bodies of members of the Royal Family and their loyal servants were brought from the Ipatievsky House in Yekaterinburg in July 1918.
Today, a monastery has been erected on the site of the Ganina Yama mine in honor of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers.
Return to Yekaterinburg.

Excursion to P. P. Bazhov Memorial House Museum.
The famous Ural writer began building the house after his marriage to Valentina Alexandrovna Ivanitskaya. Thanks to Valentina Alexandrovna, a museum was opened here after Pavel Petrovich's death.
The uniqueness of the museum lies in the fact that everything in the house remained as it was during the life of the owner. Pavel Petrovich lived here for 28 years and wrote many works, including the famous Ural tales.
Visit to the Church on the Blood (extra charge).
It was here that the house of engineer Nikolai Nikolaevich Ipatiev stood, in which the last Russian emperor Nicholas II with his family and servants were shot.
In 2000, active work began on the construction of the temple designed by architects V.P. Morozov, V.Y. Grachev and G.V. Mazaev. The church was consecrated on the eve of the next anniversary of the tragic events — July 16, 2003.
The architectural complex includes the five-domed main temple, the Elizabeth Chapel and the patriarchal Compound.

Day 4 - Museum of Gold, Museum of History and Archeology of the Urals

Transfer to the city of Berezovsky.
Excursion to the gold Museum.
The museum was established in 1970 on the initiative of local historian Sylvia Openkina.
The museum's expositions acquaint visitors with the discovery of Yerofey Markov and the beginning of the gold mining industry in the Urals in the 18th century, with the discoveries of Lev Brusnitsyn, the life of workers, with the history of the city of Berezovsky and modern gold mining, which continues to this day.
Return to Yekaterinburg.

Excursion to the Museum of History and Archeology of the Urals.
The museum is located in the building of the former Dzerzhinsky House of Culture.
A unique exhibit is kept here — the Shigir idol, the oldest wooden sculpture in the world (about 12,000 years old!). We will also learn about the oldest human sites, Uralian tools, and the archaeological discoveries of the region.
Departure to the airport at 16:00.

I'm so glad I chose the 'Across the Expanses of Perm the Great' tour in July 2024. It was a high-quality, engaging, and thoughtfully designed journey through the entire Perm region. The trip was full of fascinating discoveries: ancient monasteries, unique museums, the distinctive Permian animal style and wooden deities, the history of salt production and the Stroganovs in the Urals, and much more. The natural beauty of Parma was breathtaking: dense forests, countless rivers, mountains, and even an ice cave. The hotels were comfortable, and the breakfasts and lunches were tasty, often featuring elements of local cuisine. Traveling in a small group made the experience even more enjoyable, after all, it's usually seasoned travelers who venture to the Perm region. One special moment was when we all got to bake and taste traditional gingerbread made from an old recipe, for many of us, it was a first.
