New Year's holidays in Kazan

The temple of all religions is a fairly young but very intriguing landmark in Kazan. This unusual architectural structure was built in 1994.

The creator of the temple planned to erect domes and create iconic elements of religious buildings of 16 world religions, including those of vanished civilizations!

This created an architectural complex combining Orthodox and Catholic churches, a Jewish synagogue, a Muslim mosque, a Buddhist temple and a Chinese pagoda.

Island-city of Sviyazhsk. Sviyazhsk is a unique monument of Russian antiquity in the Republic of Tatarstan, which we will also visit on our New Year's tour.

Since 1547, Tsar Ivan the Terrible has made many unsuccessful attempts to defeat the Kazan Khanate. And one day the tsar saw in a dream a fortress that would help him take the impregnable Kazan.

By order of Ivan the Terrible, an entire city was built 1,000 km from Kazan. After that, all the buildings were dismantled and floated down the Volga to Sviyazhsk.

In just four weeks, the wooden city was reassembled on the island! So Sviyazhsk became a stronghold for the victorious campaign of the Moscow prince against Kazan in 1552.

The Raifa monastery. In ancient times, a settlement of monks called Raifa was formed near the sacred Mount Sinai on the Red Sea. In the fourth century, pagans attacked the monastery, demanding gold, which the monks never gave them.

In memory of this, 13 centuries later, the Raifa Bogoroditsky Monastery was built on the land of Kazan. The main shrine of the monastery is a copy of the icon of the Georgian Mother of God.

Yoshkar-Ola is the capital of the Republic of Mari El, located on the banks of the Malaya Kokshaga River. The name of the city translates as "red", and the residents of the city are completely sure that it means "beautiful".

Yoshkar-Ola is a city of red bricks and green roofs, sophisticated turrets and golden clocks! A piece of Venice, a corner of Denmark and a Russian flavor – this is how the capital of the Republic of Mari El appears to tourists.

During the New Year's tour of the city, we will see the Bruges embankment, built in the Danish style, the musical "clock with a donkey", the "Tsar Cannon" and the monument "Yoshkin the Cat", beloved by tourists. Tourists really like to sit next to him on a bench and take a photo as a souvenir.

The decoration of the city is the Tsarevokokshay Kremlin— an architectural ensemble of churches, fortress walls and towers, stylized as a medieval Russian fortress.

Bauman Street is one of the oldest streets in Kazan. Souvenir shops, cafes, restaurants, temples and monasteries – everything is nearby!

During the tour, we will see the tourists' favorite sights - the monument to the cat, the carriage that Catherine II rode in Kazan, the Chaliapin monument, the bell tower of the Epiphany Cathedral and St. Nicholas Cathedral.

The residence of the Tatar Santa Claus. We are going to visit the Tatar Santa Claus, whose name here is Kysh Babai. The granddaughter of the Snow Maiden, respectively, is called Kar-Kyzy. These are their usual Tatar names.

In the monastery of Santa Claus, we will participate in a fun New Year's program with the participation of Leshy, Baba Yaga and other fairy-tale characters. With the help of a magic card, we will walk through the winter forest, solve riddles, ride a broom, lead round dances and, of course, make New Year's wishes!

Night Kazan. Kazan is deservedly recognized as one of the most beautiful cities in Russia, it is beautiful at any time of the year and day. But the city acquires a special charm with the onset of night.

The lights of lanterns, the leisurely streets, the beauty of the gathering dusk.

At night, Kazan is transformed, turning into a real oriental beauty. She greets tourists with the illumination of Kaban Lake, the patterned fences of the "Park of the 1000th Anniversary of Kazan" and the glow of the "Palace of Agriculture".

The tour will take us to the picturesque Fairground, located near the white stone walls of the ancient Kazan Kremlin, behind which the fantastically beautifully illuminated Kul Sharif Mosque sparkles.

We will drive over the beautifully illuminated Millennium Bridge and find ourselves on Freedom Square, where the Opera House, Kazan City Hall and the Conservatory have already been transformed and delight the eye with their evening lighting.

We vacate the hotel rooms in the morning, and leave our suitcases in the hotel's luggage room. And we go for a light walk.

The chak-chak Museum. Chak-chak is an oriental sweet made from dough with honey.

Kazan is home to Russia's only chak-chak museum. On the tour, we will get acquainted with the traditions and customs of the Tatars and find out how this sweet and honey chak-chak is prepared.

Master class on calligraphy. Under the guidance of a skilled craftsman, we will get acquainted with the art of unusual calligraphy! We will learn about the ancient alphabet and how to spell words correctly.

And then we'll learn how to draw intricate letters on our own and see the beauty of the lines in the world around us.

The duration of the tour is about 3-4 hours.

The program ends at 15:00-16:00 in the central part of the city.
