More than 700 years ago, on the site of the modern city of Bolgar there was an ancient city that was the capital of Volga Bulgaria, an early feudal state located between the Volga and Kama rivers. During the tour, you will be able to wander between the white stone ruins of ancient buildings, imagining how many centuries ago life was boiling here…
The historical and archaeological complex of the Bulgarians is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Inspection of all objects preserved on the territory of the ancient settlement: the Cathedral Mosque, the Eastern and Northern mausoleums, the Khan's Tomb, the Small Minaret, the Black Chamber, the White Chamber, the Khan's Bath, the Khan's Palace.

The Kazan Kremlin is the main attraction of the city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the official residence of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and the state museum-Reserve, which is visited by thousands of tourists every year.
The white Stone Kremlin is the heart of the ancient city, embodying the culture of the West and the east. The minarets of the main mosque of the city of Kul Sharif have soared up here (visit) and the domes of the oldest Orthodox Annunciation Cathedral sparkle with gold. On the territory of the fortress there is one of the symbols of Kazan — the famous "falling" tower of Hanshi Syuyumbike.

Sviyazhsk is an ancient fortress built during the reign of Ivan the Terrible, it served as a military outpost in the Volga region and a place of preparation for military units to march on the impregnable fortress of Kazan.
The tour route in Sviyazhsk includes unique historical monuments: the Cathedral of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Mourn", one of the oldest wooden churches in Russia — the Church of the Holy Trinity, the active Assumption Monastery with an architectural ensemble of the 16th and 17th centuries, a horse yard and craft workshops, Rozhdestvenskaya Square, overlooking the water expanses and the Uslonsky Mountains.

Day 4 - Yoshkar-Ola. Sightseeing tour, national lunch, ethnographic exposition

Yoshkar-Ola is the capital of the Republic of Mari El.
In the last decade, Yoshkar-Ola has been transformed: the center has actually been rebuilt.
Therefore, we are going to Mari El, first of all, not for the history of dusty centuries, but to see the modern life of the main city of this republic.
One of the main attractions is the square named after him. Obolensky-Nogotkov.

Excursion "Memory of the Russian land" in Gorodets. At the end of the 13th century Gorodets was the center of the appanage principality. It was owned by one of Alexander Nevsky's sons, Prince Andrey Alexandrovich.
Provincial, quiet, cozy, with narrow streets, old buildings and new houses — a fairy tale city on the Volga. A unique ancient building has been preserved here — wooden multi-colored houses with carvings and architraves, stone merchant mansions.
There are beautiful views of the Volga River from the Volga steep. The ancient city of Gorodets is the birthplace of the famous Gorodets painting and many native Russian crafts.
There is one of the oldest monasteries in the Nizhny Novgorod region. It is older than Nizhny Novgorod itself and belongs, according to legend, to the XII century. This is the Fedorovsky Gorodetsky Monastery.
The main shrine of the monastery is a copy of the Feodorov icon, the original of which is located in Kostroma. According to legend, it was found by Prince Yuri Dolgoruky in a wooden chapel near Gorodets back in the 11th century. It was here, in the cells of the Gorodetsky Fedorovsky Monastery, that Alexander Nevsky died at the age of forty-three.
