Day 1 - Departure from Moscow. Vladimir and Bogolyubovo
Gathering of the group in Moscow: VDNKh metro station, parking lot to the right of the Kosmos Hotel.

Vladimir city tour, one of the few cities of the Golden Ring, where architectural monuments from before the Mongol-Tatar conquest have been preserved:
Dmitrievsky Cathedral (external inspection);
Golden Gate (external inspection, under restoration);
Assumption Cathedral, a masterpiece of white stone architecture, where paintings of the XII-XIX centuries, including the famous frescoes of the icon painter Andrei Rublev, have been preserved.

The Museum of Crystal and Glass of the XVIII-XXI centuries or the exhibition "Old Vladimir" in a 4-storey tower in 1912.
Departure to Bogolyubovo village.
Bogolyubovo village was once an ancient Russian city founded in 1158 as the residence of Prince Andrey Bogolyubsky of Vladimir.
Today, one of the oldest Russian monasteries, the Bogolyubsky Monastery, is located on the territory of the former Andrei Bogolyubsky Palace-castle (architecture inspection). The buildings were often rebuilt, but part of the legendary residence has been partially preserved — the famous white stone tower with a spiral staircase.
Walk to the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl, a monument of white stone architecture of the XII century (external inspection). The church was located practically on the river "strelka", forming the crossroads of the most important waterways. According to the chronicle, the construction under Prince Andrew was carried out by "craftsmen from all lands." The unique "swan temple" has miraculously survived to this day.

Suzdal is a museum city with about 200 historical monuments, many of which have UNESCO World Heritage status.

sightseeing of the architectural ensemble of the main attraction of Suzdal — the Suzdal Kremlin. According to archaeologists, the Kremlin in Suzdal was built in the 10th century, despite this, its main buildings have been preserved to this day.;
The Pokrovsky Monastery (from the observation deck) is a women's monastery that holds many secrets. In the 16th century, it served as a place of exile for disgraced tsars and women of noble boyar families.

You will listen to stories about the first Russian theater, walk along the streets where the heroes of famous Soviet and Russian films walked.
Guided tour of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery (inspection of the architectural ensemble), the main city landmark with impregnable stone walls, which is sometimes popularly called the "Yaroslavl Kremlin".
It was here in the XVIII century that the list of the masterpiece of ancient Russian literature "The Word about Igor's Regiment" was discovered.

The ancient merchant city, which has preserved to this day the original appearance of the architectural ensemble of the XVIII century, will lift the veil of mystery of its unique history.

Kostroma is the cradle of the Romanov dynasty. It was in the Ipatievsky monastery in Kostroma that Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov hid from Godunov's disgrace.
Ipatievsky Monastery is the main symbol of Kostroma.
An inspection of the territory of the recreated Kostroma Kremlin, where the miraculous icon of the Fedorovskaya Mother of God is kept in the Epiphany Cathedral.
It was written around 1239 and is famous for its great miracles and healings. This is the oldest work of Kostroma icon painting. The icon has long been revered as the defender of the city and the guardian of the Romanov family.

Many thanks to “Big Country” for this wonderful tour. The entire trip was organized exceptionally well: the hotels, meals, and transportation were all excellent. But the real highlight of the journey was our tour guide, Denis!!! Honestly, without him the trip would not have been nearly as memorable. Visiting so many churches and historical sites without meaningful context would have quickly become monotonous. Most of the local guides simply rushed through the program with dry facts and dates, almost like a school lecture. Denis, however, made everything come alive. Even before we arrived at each destination, he was already sharing fascinating stories and background information on the bus, which helped us appreciate the places so much more once we got there. Not a single person was late for the bus in the mornings! Everyone was eager not to miss his stories!!! He has an incredible knowledge of the history and geography of the region, and he could make even the scenery outside the window interesting!!! Listening to him never felt tiring because he spoke with such enthusiasm and passion!!! For the last two days we had a different guide, and the contrast was huge - unfortunately, it just wasn’t engaging at all. To sum it up: excellent organization, comfortable travel conditions, and an outstanding guide like Denis made this trip truly special!!! I only wish there were more professionals like him.

I really enjoyed the trip. I learned a lot more about my country and its history, and visited many historic cities and monasteries. It’s an experience I will remember for a long time.
