Day 1 - Departure from Moscow. Vladimir and Bogolyubovo
Gathering of the group in Moscow: VDNKh metro station, parking lot to the right of the Kosmos Hotel:
at 07:45 — on departure on Saturday, as well as 11/01/2025, 01/22/2026, 01/3/2026, 04/01/2026, 05/01/2026;
at 09:00 — on departure on Monday, Wednesday.
Departure from Moscow to Vladimir from the VDNKh metro station, to the right of the Kosmos Hotel:
at 08:00 — on departure on Saturday, as well as 01.11.2025, 02.01.2026, 03.01.2026, 04.01.2026, 05.01.2026;
at 09:15 — on departure on Monday, Wednesday.

Departure to Bogolyubovo village.
Bogolyubovo village was once an ancient Russian city founded in 1158 as the residence of Prince Andrey Bogolyubsky of Vladimir.
Today, one of the oldest Russian monasteries, Bogolyubsky Monastery, is located on the territory of the former Andrei Bogolyubsky Palace-castle (architecture inspection).
The buildings were often rebuilt, but part of the legendary residence has been partially preserved – the famous white stone tower with a spiral staircase.
Walk to the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl, a monument of white stone architecture of the XII century (external inspection).
The church was located practically on the river "strelka", forming the crossroads of the most important waterways. According to the chronicle, the construction under Prince Andrew was carried out by "craftsmen from all lands." The unique "swan temple" has miraculously survived to this day.
Please note: the walk to the church will take place under favorable weather and natural conditions. Please bring comfortable shoes.
Transfer to Vladimir.
Sightseeing tour of Vladimir, one of the few cities of the Golden Ring, where architectural monuments from before the Mongol-Tatar conquest have been preserved:

● St. Dmitrievsky Cathedral (external inspection).
● Golden Gate (external inspection, under restoration).
● Assumption Cathedral (visit), a masterpiece of white stone architecture, where paintings of the XII-XIX centuries, including the famous frescoes of the icon painter Andrei Rublev, have been preserved.

visit to the Museum of Crystal and Glass of the XVIII-XXI centuries OR the exhibition "Old Vladimir" in a 4-storey tower in 1912. (tells about the city of the late 19th century – early 20th century).

Day 2 - Suzdal and Ivanovo

Sightseeing tour of Suzdal, a museum city with about 200 historical monuments, many of which have UNESCO World Heritage status. The city is called "the glorious city of heaven" and "the cradle of the Golden Ring."
In the program:
sightseeing of the architectural ensemble of the main attraction of Suzdal — the Suzdal Kremlin. According to archaeologists, the Kremlin in Suzdal was built in the 10th century, despite this, its main buildings have been preserved to this day.;
The Pokrovsky Monastery (from the observation deck) is a women's monastery that holds many secrets. In the 16th century, it served as a place of exile for disgraced tsars and women of noble boyar families.

Russian grave of Prince Dmitry Mikhailovich Pozharsky, an outstanding Russian commander, is located in the monastery of St. Euthymius Monastery with a visit to the Transfiguration Cathedral and the famous bells.;
visit the Museum of Wooden Architecture with unique buildings from the 17th and 19th centuries (the museum is built in the form of a rural street with temples, apartment buildings, mills, barns and other buildings transported from different villages and villages of the Vladimir region).

Day 3 - Yaroslavl and Kostroma

The fire tower of the XIX century, an outstanding monument of classicism, the guardhouse building, a beautifully preserved ensemble of Shopping malls, which are still in service.
The wide embankment of the Volga River.
An inspection of the territory of the recreated Kostroma Kremlin, where the miraculous icon of the Fedorovskaya Mother of God is kept in the Epiphany Cathedral. It was written around 1239 and is famous for its great miracles and healings. This is the oldest work of Kostroma icon painting. The icon has long been revered as the defender of the city and the guardian of the Romanov family.
Visit to the famous Ipatievsky Monastery, the main symbol of Kostroma (inspection of the architectural ensemble).
Within the walls of this monastery, Mikhail Romanov was blessed with the kingdom. Since then, the monastery has been rightfully considered the "Cradle of the Romanov dynasty." Members of the imperial family revered the monastery as their family shrine. At various times, the monastery was visited by Catherine II, Nicholas I, Alexander II and Nicholas II.

Day 4 - Rostov the Great, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Sergiev Posad

Rostov is not called Great for nothing, because its mentions date back to the year 862 in the chronicles.
Sightseeing tour of Rostov Veliky on the passage (external sightseeing): ramparts and Lake Nero, Spaso-Yakovlevsky Monastery, Kekin gymnasium and Gostiny Dvor, unique Stable yard, merchant estates of the XVIII–XIX centuries.
Guided tour of the Rostov Kremlin (inspection of the architectural ensemble). Sightseeing: Assumption Cathedral (XVI century) with a unique belfry, on which a set of 15 bells has been completely preserved, Bishop's Courtyard, Cathedral Square.

The heart of Pereslavl is Red Square, which is several centuries older than the famous Moscow namesake. A living confirmation of local antiquity is the Transfiguration Cathedral, founded by Yuri Dolgoruky in 1152. This is the oldest building in Northeastern Russia that has survived to the present day.

Guided tour of the territory of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. The Trinity-Sergius Lavra is the pearl of Russia's Orthodox shrines with a centuries—old history. The architectural ensemble of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra is under UNESCO protection.

Trinity Cathedral (external inspection) is the main cathedral church and the oldest surviving structure of the Trinity Monastery, the first stone building of the Lavra. The main shrine of the cathedral is the relics of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
The Assumption Cathedral (interior) is the architectural center of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra.
Refectory and Dukhovskoy temples (interior).

But the real highlight of the journey was our tour guide, Denis!!! Honestly, without him the trip would not have been nearly as memorable. Visiting so many churches and historical sites without meaningful context would have quickly become monotonous. Most of the local guides simply rushed through the program with dry facts and dates, almost like a school lecture. Denis, however, made everything come alive. Even before we arrived at each destination, he was already sharing fascinating stories and background information on the bus, which helped us appreciate the places so much more once we got there. Not a single person was late for the bus in the mornings! Everyone was eager not to miss his stories!!! He has an incredible knowledge of the history and geography of the region, and he could make even the scenery outside the window interesting!!! Listening to him never felt tiring because he spoke with such enthusiasm and passion!!! For the last two days we had a different guide, and the contrast was huge - unfortunately, it just wasn’t engaging at all. To sum it up: excellent organization, comfortable travel conditions, and an outstanding guide like Denis made this trip truly special!!! I only wish there were more professionals like him.

I really enjoyed the trip. I learned a lot more about my country and its history, and visited many historic cities and monasteries. It’s an experience I will remember for a long time.
