Itinerary

  • Day 1 - S.A. Yesenin: The village of Konstantinovo and Ryazan

Gathering of the group from 07:45 in the lobby of the Kotelniki metro station, at the first car from the center under a sign with the name of the tour.

    Departure from Moscow at 08:00.

    Transfer to Konstantinovo (190 km).

The Ryazan land can rightfully be proud of its past. It was the birthplace of many outstanding people who had a significant impact on the development of advanced Russian scientific thought, literature and art, world science and culture.

For almost four centuries, the village of Konstantinovo has stood on the picturesque high bank of the Oka River, famous for the fact that the Russian poet Sergei Alexandrovich Yesenin was born here on October 3, 1895. His childhood and youth were spent here.

During our excursion to the poet's Homeland, we will visit the following expositions: The Memorial Estate of S.A. Yesenin's parents, the House of the priest I.Ya. Smirnov, the Zemstvo School, the Estate of L.I. Kashina, the Museum of the poem "Anna Snegina", the Literary Museum, the Carriage Yard.

The picturesque nature of the village and its surroundings will not leave anyone indifferent. When you get to Konstantinovo, you realize that a POET could not have been born here.

    Transfer to Ryazan (40 km).

Lunch at a cafe in the city.

Ryazan is a city described in chronicles, sung in epics and songs, noted in the lives of saints, the works of historians, in novels and poems, grew up in an ancient agricultural area and was originally called Pereyaslavl.

In the old days, Ryazan argued with Moscow with its wealth and power. The beauty and grandeur of the city can still be felt now. Let's make sure of this by taking a tour of the city: the Kremlin, Cathedral Square, monument to Oleg Ryazansky, Gostiny Dvor, building of the Noble Assembly of the Ryazan province, monuments to Yevpaty Kolovrat, monument to the great poet Sergei Yesenin and much more.

Next, we will have a beautiful artistic and musical performance - an excursion to the Ryazan Art Museum, which is called the Ryazan Tretyakov Gallery – one of the Russian treasures of fine art.

Currently, the museum's collection includes about 12,000 works of Russian and Western European art of the XV-XX centuries of various types and genres.

The museum is located in an architectural monument of the early XIX century – a noble boarding house of the provincial men's gymnasium. This is a two-storey palace-type building by an unknown architect, the circle of the outstanding architect of Russian classicism M.F. Kazakov. The building belonged to the Ryazan millionaire merchant Gavrila Vasilyevich Ryumin.

In continuation of the program, we will move to the ballroom, the "Musical Living Room", where, performed by soloists of the Ryazan Musical Theater, we will enjoy a small concert consisting of works about Yesenin and poems by Yesenin.

My daughter and I took the St. Petersburg Collection tour for 7 days, and I highly recommend it for first-time visitors to the city like us. The tour is well-designed, allowing you to see the main attractions in a short period of time. A great advantage is that you can join on any day. Everything was well-organized—excellent guides, comfortable buses, and provided radio headsets for better communication. There were no delays or long waits. The schedule was planned in a way that left plenty of free time in the evenings for walks or additional sightseeing. The tour package includes hotel accommodation, with several options to choose from. I stayed at the Rossiya Hotel near Pobeda Park and was very satisfied. The rooms were clean, with daily housekeeping, fresh towels, and air conditioning—which was perfect given the pleasant temperatures of 24–30°C during our stay. A buffet breakfast was included—simple but sufficient to start the day. It was really convenient, as we would bring a small snack for the day and have dinner somewhere in central St. Petersburg. The hotel is within walking distance of the blue metro line, making it easy to reach the city center without transfers. There’s also a supermarket nearby, along with plenty of street food options. It’s also worth mentioning that additional excursions are available. We took a boat trip to the forts of Kronstadt and joined a nighttime tour to see the city's famous drawbridges—both were unforgettable experiences
