08:00 Departure to Kashira.
Evgeny Yefremov's author's sightseeing tour of the city awaits us.
From the first chronicle mention to the latest news, on the tour you will turn over the pages of Kashira's history and get acquainted with its heroes.
You will hear a story about the era of the Tatar-Mongol yoke and the Time of Troubles, about the construction of the railway, the feat of the townspeople during the Second World War and the modern life of one of the oldest towns in the Moscow region.
We will walk along the ancient streets and talk about the owner of the estates of the XIX century, visit the buildings of the city administration, local museums and squares, and besides, from our guide you will hear poems of your own composition about the history of Kashira!
On a walk you will see:
- Nikitsky Monastery and church are the main Orthodox complex in Kashira. The observation deck offers a picturesque panorama of the city and its surroundings.
- Bread Square near the Vvedensky Temple, where you will learn about the traditional St. George's Fair and the ancient shopping malls, the arcades of which were in harmony with the shapes of the temple.
- The monument to Sagittarius, symbolizing the feat of the Kashirsky archers of 1572, who stopped the Turkish-Crimean army on its way to the capital.
- Monuments to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, passing by which we will remember the feat of the detachment of General Belov.
- A.S. Pushkin Square, where you will find out which of the relatives of the famous poet lived on Kashirskaya land.
- The Church of St. Nicholas the Soldier with the adjacent Summer Garden and St. Sergius of Radonezh Square — why the shrine received a double name, how the Zaraisk monument to the monk turned out to be here.
Finally, we will stop at the Assumption Cathedral.
Next, we will visit the doll museum.
In 2003, with the assistance of the Kashira branch of the Russian Cultural Foundation, a Doll Museum was established in the city children's library. The museum presents the history of toys from the second half of the 19th century to the present day.
Most of the exhibits belong to the 1950s and 1980s, with special attention paid to Soviet toys, dolls and dolls made in the USSR. At the time of the museum's opening, there were about 300 toys in the collection.
Today, the museum has more than 1,500 exhibits. Visitors to the museum have the opportunity to get acquainted with the collection of bears of all times, porcelain toys and ritual dolls. The collection also contains exhibits transferred from the Moscow Regional Puppet Theater.
The pride of the collection is a teddy bear made at the Moscow Toy Factory in 1936.
The doll Museum tells how our great–grandmothers and great-grandfathers were brought up, what they played, what dolls were created - the museum's expositions will tell about all this.
Transfer to the city of Venev.
Lunch at a cafe in the city.
Next, we will have a sightseeing tour of the city of Venev. Don't think that Red Square is only in Moscow! Venev is no exception, there is also a Red Square here.
According to the canons of classicism, the majestic St. Nicholas Church was built on the square, from which only the bell tower has survived to this day.
This is the tallest building in the Tula region — its height is 75 m and it is visible from everywhere in the city, being the hallmark of Venev.
Let's get acquainted with other architectural monuments.: The Epiphany and Kazan churches of the former Epiphany Monastery, which was abolished in 1764.
Then our way lies to Stationnaya Street, where a Historical and cultural Complex is open right at the Venev railway station.
The place has gained national fame as a unique open-air museum. On the right is a water tower in the form of a lighthouse, on which a lantern slowly lights up and goes out at night.
Thanks to the agreement of the Venevites with the von Mecks ("railway kings"), it was possible to lay a branch line to Venev at the beginning of the 20th century.
The residents of Venev remember the good things and a sculptural composition von Meckam was installed inside the station. At the station alley we will see unique exhibits: steam locomotives of various sizes and other interesting railway equipment.
By all means, buy a double steering wheel in the shape of the letter "B" in Vienna according to the local original recipe. In the 19th century, the city was famous for its "Venevka" bagels and at the same time conducted a fairly large bread trade.
In addition, the Venevka steering wheel is a wonderful gift that you can bring back from a trip.
We finish the tour in Venev and drive to Tula (52 km).
Free time to visit the Tula Kremlin on your own.
You can take a walk along the new Embankment and Metallistov Street, which has been turned into a pedestrian museum and exhibition space, and buy Tula souvenirs and hotels with you.
